San Jose 99 was amazing with Mick and Keith playing to one another on the B-Stage.

And the O2/1 version with Taylor was stunning as well if only because it was a total suprise and thrill to see him step out for that song.

I’ve never heard a Rambler I didn’t like live.. once of my favs in person was Pittsburgh in ‘21.. Even tho Charlie wasn’t there it was great, Keith ventured out the catwalk and got into a playful back and forth with Mick that I still smile about smiling smiley

My favorite is the longest version ever, from Roskilde 2014. Also the last time Mick Taylor played with them.

Brussels 1973. Like I tend to say the greatest rock and roll recorded performance by anyone ever. My absolute favourite piece of music.

Forgive me if I am not up to speed or if this has already been discused: East Rutherford Show 2 featured a little Robert Johnson "Come On In My Kitchen" interlude during Midnight Rambler. Incredible blues and playfulness between Keith and Mick. Does anyone know if that is a commonly played interlude in that song, or if it has ever been done before? I was at MetLife in 2019 but I don't remember the Johnson reference in that version of MR. Thanks.

Was the Roundhouse in 1971 mentioned? It’s fantastic and my favorite. The others mentioned with Muck Taylor are a close behind.

As been mentioned by others, my picks are Ya Yas 69 and Brussels 73.

Over the years, however, (especially since the Abkco copyright dump from 2019), I have tended to prefer the version of Rambler on 11/27/69 rather than the one they used for Ya Yas from the next days evening show. 11/27 was a little more raw and looser (and just as menacing). Just my two cents...

They've been doing that Robert Johnson interlude often on the past few tours.

For years

Sometimes kitches, sometimes other robert johnson songs like hellhound on my trail

Not sure what other songs. Mosty kitchen.

Someone here suggested to do rolling stones blues interlude. Excellent idea!

Oooh - I would really read again and print out what you guys are saying bout Midnight rambler.

BECAUSE: There's a kind of "Musik-Polizei" roaming around, trying to trample good shows, parties and come togethers - in the musical way:
They can't take musicians serious, who CANNOT play with a CLICK!!!

say no more

I witnessed the show in Foxbor the other night and MR was simply awesome. The interplay between Mick and Keith was like the old days. For me it was an epic performance. I saw the first Metlife show a week earlier and it was not played. The show somehow came off as incomplete without it. It is always the highlight of the show for me. I know some shows from 94 to 2007 didn't include it. When they came back for the Fifty and counting I believe it was played on every tour. Miss You paled in comparison even though the Metlife verison was prety good. They need to play Rambler it's so good live. Speaking of shows feeling incomplete this is the first tour I've seen without Brown Sugar but that's a whole other topic.....I must say I do miss the song in the set and find it less disturbing lyrically than Rambler.

Cant recall how to have the clip show. I'd never seen this steamy Paris'70 version.
looks like Bobby is blowing along.

Apparently, he did throughout the 1970 tour, but not any other tour.

Can't hear him on any recording though.

It is awesome. At NJ 1, I was disappointed without it making an appearance although the show was wonderful. NJ 2 was a thrill when I heard those first unmistakable harmonica notes. Thankfully, at the two additional shows I saw this time around, it was played at each. Just ****ing POWERFUL.

**Oh are you saying just on "Midnight Rambler". Interesting, I can't hear him on Secrets Travel Fast. I was thinking maybe he's playing a baritone part that's buried, but I don't think that's what he's playing.

On the film clips of the Rai Amsterdam Bobby is also playing on Midnight Rambler, so I assume he played regularly on this track.

Sorry if this has been posted already. Here's a link to a YouTube video which seems to be an excellent tutorial on how to play KR and MT guitar parts in the Brussels Affair masterpiece Midnight Rambler version.

A track means a recording not a live version.
