It does coincide with their dates...if it's really a benefit, an altruistic thing, MJ politically would kinda have to take part, else seem like a real heel. New Yorkers would not take real kind to a benefit for Sandy not attended by rock's royalty, when they're raking it in on both sides of the event. The Daily News would pan them.
