If your suggestion was indeed the reason they played that dreadful song (which I highly doubt), it must've been because Chuck Leavell reads this board.

According to Gazza, it was the first time they played it since August 1964.

Next minute they'll be doing Now I've Got A Witness, or Little By Little.

Let's not let this one die.

That was a glorious opening.

Darkness.

Charlie snare.

Keith chords.

Lights up.

Mick standing posed.

Hounds-tooth jacket and pork pie hat.

Head down.. waiting.

Then the skinny legs get into gear... strutty prissy walk...

Pointing, jabbing.. scuttling...

rubber lips.. rubber hips...

Ronnie.. nice slide...

Then he changed the lyrics...

Magnificent.

They played it because one hour before the show a Ukrainian TV news crew (INTER TV) stopped to talk to a few of us en route from the Pilot Inn, asked us for a song - and the guy beside me started singing 'I Wanna Be Your Man' and the rest of us joined in.

Sorry people,

Mick Jagger and/or the other Rolling Stones would simply be dumbfounded if they did not read this board! But as we know that he is rather intelligent you simply cannot imagine that he'll ignore IORR.

Much of the Rolling Stones policy in 2011 and 2012 obviously can only be explained on that background, such as for example:
- Bring Bill and Mick T back!
- Play certain songs!
- Release some great live recordings!

I mean, where else could an artist get better inspiration than from his knowledgable fans if he pays attention to the good threads? And do not forget: Such a board at least is highly entertaining!

Greetings to the members of the Rolling Stones who read this!

Well, as someone pointed out, there is good reason to believe that Chuck, at least, reads the board, and as "musical director", he's got a lot to do with putting the setlist together.

I am quite sure that all the Stones (at least occasionally) read the board. After all it is one of the most interesting echoes of their music.

I thought it was a great opener. Where was Maccca?

don't like the half-tone higher when Mick sings "lover"; I prefer the original version and Brian slide.
