Happy New Tear!

Thought I'd take a shot at posting
a photo in the Sig line.
Have it here in my computer,
scanned from a '78 show.

Tried the suggestion in
the Forum Help section,
but that seems to be for
photo from a website.

Anyone out their able to
help out?

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's easy. You have to have the photo online somewhere (I suggest www.photobucket.com). You upload the pic from your computer to your photobucket. Then you have the picture online. Now there's a tag saying

This doesnn't look like a 1978 show by the way, it most probably is Philladephia or San Fancisco 1981.

My girfriend was taking the pictures of
this show sitting on my shoulders...she ruined
my shirt! This photo was the first as we
gradually moved forward towards the stage.

Eventually we made it to the bouncers in front.
They lifted her off my shoulders and she stayed
on stage (back left) for several commical shots of Mick.

She pried the diamond from Mick's mouth!

This was definately a Southern California show,
embarrassingly I must ask if anyone can tell what
year the tour was? (I've got my '72 and '75 on slides
so no problem there...thought this was '78, but
now seem to recall Jagger had some buffoonery
going on with his clothes, as well as a ace bandage on
his strumming arm) Possibly the Collosium?

...The memory is gone <See post of Keith's Acid Use in Oz
for explanation!> ...Kinda weird to see pictures of an event
I can't remember....

Mathijs, I had a 1961 les Paul(back in 61) with all that chrome over the vabrato setup. Do you know if that's what Jagger is playing or did SG's every have that same setup? The SG's I've seen had nothing, the standard uncovered or the Bigsby like my '74 model.

Mick plays acoustic guitar on WOAF and LIB in 1981. If I recall the Let's Spend the Night Together video, he plays electric guitar on Just My Imagination and Miss You so I would guess that the photo is taken during one of those two songs.

It´s a 81/82 show, easy to see from the typical stage and clothes they wear.
And please make your pic smaller....smiling smiley

I don't know exactly what you mean, but I guess: when the Les Paul changed shape in late 1960 it had a sideways vibrato with a large cover on the springs. All 1960 and 1961 models seem to have this vibrato. In 1963 the sideways vibrato was changed for various different vibratos: the maestro lyre-vibrato (also with large chrome cover), a Bigsby B5 vibrato and sometimes a lyre vibrato without the cover. In 1965 the pick guard changes to a large size surrounding the pickups. If I remember well Taylor played a 1964 SG with B5 vibrato, and Jagger played a 1963 SG with lyre vibrato. 1960, 1961 and 1962 are actually quite useless nowadays (but still fetch about 15.000 dollars if the genuine PAF's are still on it). The neck is way too thin to keep the guitar stable, and the sideways vibrato with all the springs suck all the tone. The best SG's are the 1963 and 1964 one's, with eiether stop-tail or lyre vibratio. These SG's have bigger necks and stay in tune much better.

I was just wondering if the double cutaway feathered Les Pauls were the only ones with the big chrome cover that looked like a Cadallic front bumper of if any of the future SG's every came with that mess.

Inglewood '75

I've got some slides (remember those!)
of the show in storage. I'll dig them out.
I recall one of MJ playing the guitar (believe
the song was Finger Print File)..was so weird
in 75 to see Mick with a guitar!
...got to admit I didn't like it for a long
time (the playing was fine AND I knew he
played guitar) BUT always preferred him loose!

Cheers!
