To make it even more authentic, they can take Ronnie out of the mix entirely like they did to Brian on this version.

Haven't they been doing that since 1989?

You mean with Mick struggling to stay on key?
I'll take the studio version, with the original face paint video. Despite the fact that the Stones are the greatest live band in history, some of their studio tracks are just perfect - untouchable. JJF is one, but particularly Satisfaction, Street Fighting Man (for years, just played too fast live) and Honky Tonk Women (with Keith's unreal backing vocals)

I'll take the Love You Live version as my number 1. Yes loose and ragged, Mick voice was almost gone but the guitars and energy make up for all of it. Ronnie's guitar is the best anyone played overtop that JJF rhythmn.

Wrong. LYL was flaccid compared to GYYO and the version in Gimme Shelter is even better than that because it has that weird lick Taylor played for a couple of measures over the verse. Fierce!
