Ok a serious answer. I contacted 3 friends who live near Keith in CT this morning and they said "Power's Out", "Booze is in the coolers" , "Minor damage" and "It was a hell of a storm!". CT had more power outages than any other state.

Keith's got Jane Rose to worry about his health, and as you know, many other less fortunate folks are suffering today as a result of this storm. New Jersey, New York, and Haiti are getting my prayers today. peace

They're well wishes for people in need. Get over it already. It's a way of saying you give a damn about someone. It doesn't mean these same people don't make donations to the Red Cross or any other charitable group that actually helps people.

.....from photos Keith's home looks like it's surrounded by a heavily
wooded area so maybe that would give some protection .... And lemon trees are pretty sturdy

Whilst I hope Keith & Patti's place is undamaged, I've more concern for the tens of thousands of people whose homes have been decimated.

Keith is a multi-millionaire with several homes. The impact on him and his finances by this awful disaster will be negligable when compared with the countless people who may have lost everything.

Love to fellow IORR-ians affected by Sandy. Be strong.

I know that many of the people in the area suffers from this disaster and I certainly feel sorry for the losses.
Though since this is a Rolling Stones forum I think about Keith's home as well as all the other less fortunate peoples property.

Even if Keith is fortunate enough to buy any house somewhere else, it's still his home and I gather that he and his family cherish their home and property as well as anyone else!

Did not hear anything about his home, but it's quite possible he is without power (he may have a generator though). My sister lives about 25 miles away in South Salem, NY, which is actually about 3 miles away from his 1977/78 home where that famous incident occurred. She lost power, thinks it could be a few days to a week before its back on and had a few trees down in the yard.

Of course no news would be available here or to the public short of a death in his family, however my common sense tells me that his house is undoubtedly equipped with a whole house backup generator, walk-in freezer, walk-in refrigerator, a very deep water well with it's own electric pump, a wine cellar, and a bar. All of that does not rule out wind damage or fallen tree damage though.

We all know Keith has been without power for years...

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Actual results: "[www.courant.com];.

Perhaps maybe if Connecticut Light and Power was more concerned about
its customers rather than hording cash to buy other utilities, this crap
wouldn't happen ... Weston suffered a 93% blackout which was one of the
worst hit in the state power-wise ... but that area is well-forested
and can absorb the water. Wind was the real enemy there. I oughta know,
Weston was in me back yard as a kid.

Say, I wonder if Keith ever played around Devil's Glen? Place right on the
road below the Saugutuck Reservoir where hippies used to go and wade:

Some fools have jumped right off the overpass into the narrows below,
I remember back in '72 some freak jumped and missed ... cops began to
patrol it after that. Good clean fun, though.

We were spared this time after the messes of Irene and Alfred ... lost power
for only 3 1/2 hours, VERY LUCKY. One of the reasons I moved inland was to
avoid the mysteries of the surf ... I feel for those who lost big down south
of us, but there should be a law against building directly on the water.
Just asking for trouble.

Why did you remove your message about Keith not caring about your home so why should you care about his?

Another relatively trivial thread. Yawn.

As I wrote in an answer to this!

I'm feeling sad for all those people affected by this tragedy!
Still home can be valuable to any person regardless if that person is poor or wealthy. It's still a home to Keith and his family.

Irrespective of religion, prayer in this case is indeed just a loving thought directed in an intentional way. Just like the thoughts that go into penning a love song or email or post to someone you care about. The power of prayer is well documented even when taken out of any religious context. I'd be willing to bet even you HM perform some form of it at times.

When a great number of people are focused on a single prayer, or hopeful intention or whatever you want to call it, the results can be extraordinary, imho. peace

Frankly I am much more concerned about the serious homeless situation that the storm has created. It affects hundreds of thousands, if not millions of children, families, the elderly etc.

At least Keith has a fab hotel suite to keep safe in.
