I've seen posts from trustworthy guys about it, but haven't seen it confirmed anywhere.

I'm treating this, from ALO, as deeply sad confirmation

Nooooo. Just a great example of someone who was never in the band but is such a huge part of the lore of what makes up 60 plus years of the Stones. Sam Cutler and Jimmy Phelge both pieces of the jigsaw puzzle that make up the Stones. Rest up Jimmy.

RIP, James. What a great honor to have your name used by The Rolling Stones.

Didn't James used to post on this board years ago?

RIP James

This is indeed sad news. I spoke to him when requesting a signed copy of his book and he was charming. I mentioned that I live not far from Edith Grove and he replied that he very seldom visited London anymore and enjoyed the countryside istead.

Yes, he did. I remember chatting with him about Stones' stage design. He had a great sense of humour and was very down to earth. Rest in peace.

So sorry to hear the sad news of James passing. I enjoyed his book and certainly recommend it for any one interested in the early days of the Rolling Stones.

I was in Cheltenham in 1999 to install some of my Brian Jones artworks, I met James Phelge and Carlo Little at the cemetery, they were both very friendly and later I got James Phelge his book signed in my daughters name, who was with me at the time.
RIP JAMES PHELGE

You're blessed to have them share that with you.

Rest in peace, James. My condolences to those who knew and loved him. There's no Nanker-Phelge without him.

Jimmy Phelge and James "VideoJames" Karnbach. Both authors of Stones books. Both really knew The Stones. The former lived in Edith Grove for a time. The latter was, like Bill German, a fan who made the grade to cross over into their world.

Nice guy, knew him from the early Undercover days in the mid to late 90s. He was one of the few who was really there ... and he wrote the story. RIP Jimmy.

This is sad news indeed. It was a privilege to spend time with Jimmy when he was living in Chicago for awhile many years ago. He was always kind to me and a fun guy to be around. May he rest in peace…
