BV suggest you ban all the broke whiners, especially the ones who were convinced the band wouldn't play any more shows because of the wacky theories about Keef's "arthritis", etc., and are now complaining it's too "expensive" to see them...drinking smiley

Are you kidding? I had been first in line at the box office in Brooklyn -- camped out and waiting for three weeks -- until last week when I heard they were playing in Jersey.

You know, I don't actually care that much how much an act loves its fans. I care more about whether I love the act. For some, it's part of the equation - the Clash, Mott the Hoople. The Stones have always been imperious.

Agree.

The only bad thing about NJ is the pollution- most of which probably comes from Queens.

Sorry but I dont get this story about high ticket prices. Maybe Im wrong but Stones've never been too much idealistic. They've never been also a working-class voice, revolutionaries or sentiment-like types. They just play great tunes for those who like it, want to hear it and can afford it. They always made big money but in the past they could easily go for a two-year tour and play stadiums for a lower ticket prices. Now they cant. They just got old. Its an achievement to be onstage and play at their age. So they will play these four concerts (and maybe couple of more) for a good load of money because they know they could ask that much for an icon-status they got. Its going to sell-out. They are simply the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world... An we know it. We love their music. So, thank them for still being alive... And be happy for those who will see them at the O2 and in Newark.

what about that whole thing about the love you get is equal to the love you give...or something? ....oh, wrong band. but, still.

Yeah, never loved that other band so much. I would retort that the Stones have created love for themselves with their work. I'm not defending or attacking their ticket prices here, I'm commenting on the idea that an artist needs to show "love" for their audience. Sometimes it's part of the equation that makes the art good. In the case of the Stones it's never been that.

I think John Cougar should have the last word here:

Just heard a report on the shows on NPR radio, with almost the entire emphasis on the high ticket prices, while the Stones version of "Money" played in the background.

Yesterday, Keith was talking about Wyman and MT on the movie premier stage, NOT about them in concert. But it is great they were at the premier - and maybe they will appear at the O2

I think it's in the cards. First two shows being a sell out and the arena seems to be available for the 27th.

I don't think they can sell another 20.000 for these prices. Imagine how 40.000 buyers would feel if they drop prices to fill another night...
