But it is a conspiracy theory. Any theory that hypothesises that something didn't happen and was hidden with an alternate story given is a conspiracy. The conspiracy being that the US government deliberately faked the information and worked to hide the truth from the public. That would be a conspiracy. I sense perhaps the glacier might not be in my back yard?

But the definition of a conspiracy is two or more people privy to information deliberately kept hidden from others, usually to further an agenda. For example, the CIA has what is known as a black budget, and you or I and most everyone else don't know what they do with their money or what they are planning. The CIA, by definition, is a conspiracy or, at best, operates under a conspiratorial agenda. BTW, what's so unbelievable about government officials faking information and working to hide the truth from the public? Ever hear of Watergate?

Yes, and you prove the point that this is a conspiracy. Two or more people deliberately keeping information hidden from others, hence The Moon Landings Were Fake Conspiracy. Oh I have no doubt the governement fakes information, and works to hide the truth from the public. But I don't think such a massive cover up would have worked, and you example about Watergate is case in point. That was with a small cadre of White House officials and it still leaked, so imagine the Moon Landing Conspiracy remining hidden with hundreds and thousands on the know? I just don't think it is plausable that that massive of a conspiracy would remain hidden for so long. And the few people who have come forward seem to be doing this for their own profit and spotlight. And most of it based on psuedo science, at best. But hey it is interesting to think about and ponder! I like the back and forth.

spinucula, FANTASTIC POST!!!!!

I agree.

I hope stonesnow appreciates it.

Everything you need to know about Apollo is on the internet,.

The Clavius website is an excellent resource for the common hoax questions.

I appreciate David Percy's insight. So no, neither of us, nor any of the other posters on this thread, are about to change our minds any time soon. BTW GB, just watch the Moon Hoax Part 1 for the first 30 minutes and the first 5 minutes of Part 2 before making up your mind about David Percy, and I hope Whitem8 will do the same. Just 35 minutes.

I've been watching that crap for years.

I've been arguing with hoax believers for years.

I know how futile it is (well the occasional person is gracious enough to concede a point now and again).

Normally what happens is.. they put put forward a "reason" it's a hoax.. you explain why they are wrong... they ignore it and move onto the next "reason"...

It's like trying to nail jelly to a wall.

A case in point... your top 5 arguments got answered.

And still you're not satisfied.

My favorite hoax believers are the ones who can argue at different times that NASA never went.. but then if they did they are hiding the truth about the aliens they encountered there.

(The David Icke forum is amazing).

stonesnow, I did watch them both. And again, it just seemed like good entertainment. Nothing more. As was posted almost all the issues that are brought up have scientific explanations. And most those conspiracy theorists are getting paid, have their own books on the market (hence free publicity for their book), and just seem slightly looney.

To Follow Up Spin's great rebuttal, put it simply:

NO WAY could a "conspiracy" of this magnitude be kept.

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND would volunteer for Death Seat in Space? For a race to touch the moon first?!?

NBC's "Who Wants to be an Astronaut":

"So, the winning bid goes to Mr Neil Armstrong! Bob, tell Mr Armstrong what he won!"

Bob the Announcer: "Mr Armstrong, you're riding 3rd Class in a tin can called The Apollo,
complete with Moonfood® packets to keep you alive and a zero-gravity evacuation system!
Plus, when you return home, you get endless invasions to your family's privacy and a fast-growing
incurable type of cancer! Congratulations, Mr Neil Armstrong of Wapakoneta, Ohio!"

(It's Neil Armstrong on Family Guy, for those wondering)
I don't buy into conspiracy theories but this is funny.

Nation bids farewell to Neil Armstrong, first man on the moon

The nation bid farewell Thursday to Neil Armstrong, the first man to take a giant leap on to the moon. The powerful of Washington, the pioneers of space, and the everyday public crowded into the Washington National Cathedral for a public interfaith memorial for the very private astronaut.

Armstrong, who died last month in Ohio at age 82, walked on the moon in July 1969.

"He's now slipped the bonds of Earth once again, but what a legacy he left," former Treasury Secretary John Snow told the gathering.

Apollo 11 crewmates Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins and Mercury astronaut John Glenn and about two dozen members of Congress were among the estimated 1,500 people in the cavernous cathedral. A moon rock that the Apollo 11 astronauts gave the church in 1974 is embedded in one of its stained glass windows.

"You have now shown once again the pathway to the stars," Eugene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon said in a tribute to Armstrong. "As you soar through the heavens beyond even where eagles dare to go, you can now finally put out your hand and touch the face of God."

Cernan was followed by a slow and solemn version of the song "Fly Me to the Moon" by singer Diana Krall. The service also included excerpts from a speech 50 years ago by John F. Kennedy in which he said America chose to send men to the moon not because it was easy, but because it was hard.

NASA administrator Charles Bolden, a former astronaut, said Armstrong's humility and courage "lifted him above the stars." Bolden read a letter from President Barack Obama saying, "the imprint he left on the surface of the moon is matched only by the extraordinary mark he left on ordinary Americans."

Armstrong commanded the historic landing of the Apollo 11 spacecraft on the moon July 20, 1969. His first words after stepping onto the moon are etched in history books: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Armstrong insisted later that he had said "a'' before man, but said he, too, couldn't hear it in the recorded version.

Armstrong and Aldrin spent nearly three hours walking on the lunar surface and left behind a plaque that read: "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the moon. July 1969 A.D. We came in peace for all mankind."

In all, 12 American astronauts walked on the moon before the last moon mission in 1972.

Here's an article that recalls what public perception of the Apollo program actually was, back in the day.

How soon we forget.

Attention conspiracy theorists: Things like this (moom landing, other major conspiracy theories etc.) are easier TO DO than they are TO FAKE!!
