Seen GN'R twice and Axl's GN'R once.

The Axl's GN'R concert, '02 Pittsburgh, was fun. Not the original band, but a good time. In my opinion, a tribute band that the singer comes close to sounding like the real deal.

The really dishonest thing is this isn't Guns'N'Roses, it's the Axl Rose Band. Not that G'n'R compares remotely to the Beatles, but Paul McCartney isn't out there calling his band the Beatles. At least Mike Love had Bruce Johnston and the occasional legit B.B. studio sidemen when he was out there using "the Beach Boys". But this, this is crap.

I saw the Stones at the Joint on their 40 Licks tour. Their smallest gig of the whole tour. When I got home I saw lots of internet complaints from people who couldn't see the stage. But I'm 6'2" so could see everything—even the color of Mick's eyes—so loved it.

Yeah but in Bowie's case he was always more or less a solo act whereas Guns used to be a real band of equal members like the Stones 4 are. Now Guns is just a tribute band with Axl and his employees.

That being said I don't begrudge Axl playing Vegas as Guns is his tribute band as he is the only original member. It is easy money and he should get the money while he still can and fans still care about Guns IMHO.

What is going on in Tommy Stinson's head? I guess it's all about the paycheck but it's sad -- GnR were about as far from the Replacements as you could get in the 80s.

btw the original GNR lineup (a mix of member from hollywood ROSES and l.a. GUNS) was ole beich, rob gardner, tracii GUNS, axl ROSE and izzy stradlin so if you want to get technical by the time slash, duff and steven joined the band GNR no longer had the original members or the member whose last name was part of the namesake of the band

Axl is the only original member from the AFD record lineup which many consider the orignial GnR as they were the first to record any music.

At least in the current Stones Charlie, Keef, Mick and Woody are equal members. Axl's current band is him and a bunch of hired hands. It is called GnR because Axl owns the name nothing more.

nope. tracii owns 50% of the name and steve riley owns the other 50% unless he sold part of his share to phil lewis. tracii owned 100% of the name l.a. guns and when he left to form brides of destruction he sold half of the name to steve riley who was the 2nd longest tenured member of the band. thats why there was 2 l.a. guns for like 5 years because tracii still owned 50% of the name
