I got it when it leaked at Dime and imho it's just not very good.

From Mick's lawyer :

"Mick Taylor is the one who asked me to make sure this website took down the tracks of this unreleased CD. He was quite upset about it as was I. So the letter you read was sent with Micks knowledge and approval. Neither of us know how these songs got on the internet to begin with. For the record, I have known Mick Taylor for over 20 years and consider him to be a very close friend. I would never do anything to hurt him in any way. The tracks posted in the internet are raw tracks. Mick intends to finish them in the near future so they can be released. Hope this answers some of the comments that were made"

Isn't it a live album? I am quite sure I bought it and have it somewhere, but maybe I'm wrong...

Remember it wasn't exactly the finished product, you never know what would have happened with more time spent on it.

This thread is looking very strange.

Listening to the youtube clip of "Stranger In This Town" makes me regret not having bought this disc way back when I was a kid at maybe 15, having seen it in a catalogue and only having scratched at the surface of the Stones' recordings by getting "Wandering Spirit", the "Highwire" CD single and "Slide On This".

The early 90s were a great time for Stones solo albums indeed. Much better than the early 00s ;-)

I presume the "deleted" posts have included bootlegs from between 1979 and 1990 and that's why they were deleted?

"Stranger In This Town" ought to be reissued. Maybe some reissue specialists like Wounded Bird would give this one a try?

I was asked by someone from the MT camp not to advertise the posting of these recprdings and I did.

"Stranger in this Town" and "Coasin Home" are live albums.
The second released studio-album is "A Stones's Throw"
As far as I remember it have different covers on the european and the US realeses. I'm quite sure I have the european one. The cover of that one is with Mick Taylor on a field with a cigarette in his hand.

Never really got into the Alvin and Mick recordings, a lttle too hectic for me, Alvin doesn't really ever slow down and plays at a million miles an hour.

Great album. "Stranger in this town" and "going south" are my favorites.

That Stranger in Town song linked above (youtube) was way better than I expected. Lots more energy than I usually hear in Mick T's solo stuff.

A different energy I would say. There is this rhythm guitar that reminds me of Keith Richards.
