Great performance! I am anxious to see what song he does on Fallon. Strange he is just now promoting the record!

Yes, that was both Larry Taylor on Bass and Casey Waits (Tom's son) on drums. You can hear dave remark, "oh so you must be Tom's son..." Dave clearly likes Waits, he has had him on numerous times, there are some amazing clips from past performances on You Tube dating back quite a while ago.

Yeah. Larry Taylor on bass and his son Casey on drums. Casey's come a long way since he first started playing with Dad.

I said to my GF last night, 'Is that David Hidalgo and Big Bill Morganfield?!' Why in hell where they with him and not introduced? Who knows.

I don't buy Tom Waits "schtick" anymore. Or maybe it isn't a schtick - he's actually retarded. Looking like a 30s hobo, sounding like a jaw breaker. What hobo would talk about acronyms anyway?

Anyone know what kind of guitar David Hidalgo is playing?

Far from being retarded, he is an American icon. A brilliant musician, writer, and at times a great actor. He has written some incredible music and is one of the most unique performers ever to grace a stage. You might not "get" him, but he isn't a hobo, and Wait's is a true talent with passion and wit.

Harmony Strat-O-Tone. waits plays one as well, as does Marc Ribot. Waits must put it in the contract that there has to be one on stage at all times. Cool guitars if you can find one. I wasn't impressed with the reproductions that came out a few years ago.

I just saw several original one on eBay, for only a few hunderd $$ each.

Great performance on Jimmy Fallon last night. I was very pleased he sang Raised Right Man in that strange vibrato voice he uses on the album. Very cool version. Jimmy Fallon seems like a nice guy and a big fan, but his show is pathetic. Like a circus act with that stupid pie contest...not a lot of substance and base humor. Waits was awesome though!

Here's "Raised Right Man" from Jimmy Fallon last night. Heavens to Mergatroid!

Sure Whitem8, I know that. I used to like him in the late 80s. He had a couple of hits, mostly covers though. I do think he has become somewhat of a cartoon figure. There's my critism. I think he's over the top. Kind of like Michael Jackson with his glove and Bob Dylan with his social fobia or Van the Man with his black three piece suits (even when it's 30 C).
