When I met bluzdude and sweetcharmedlife recently - or i received a package from rockman or ropeni - I'm reminded of the human nature of all of this -

Yes, he was a great phoyographer.
I've seen some of his work and yhe photos he took were beautiful by their simpliness and class.

I was randomly searching the past archives of Helter's posts - he was a helluva writer, exploding indeed!!... lots lots lots of great moments, full of humanity and good spirit. Anyway, the following line turned out to be his last contribution here, made in last November, and I think it is not only giving a glimpse of his unique sense of humour and temper, but it also carries a message to all of us:

"Come on, put the pipe down and do some typing..."

That's what we are going to do, Helter! I promise.

I think that could be a fine motto for "Tell Me" from now on!

Sad news indeed, I hope his passing was painless. His spirit obviously affected many on this board. Thanks for the wonderful acknowledgement of him Sway. You are an angel. peace

I mean this with utter, complete sincerity but I think Helter--wherever he is now--would get a kick out of it if this thread were re-titled with his classic "Breaking News" headline. That's the Helter way.

Been on holiday for a few weeks and seen this on my return...really tragic news. As others have said, it's kinda of a weird parallel universe on iorr, we all know each other by our bizarre forum names and build up an image from what the person says and yes, we battle our opinons out over the most ridiculous finer points of The Stones and yet, there is a camaraderie betwwen us - a common ground, and issues like death shatter the triviality of our posts. Very sad. Thanks for informing us Sway, hope you meet up with his lady.

i know we all annoy one another from time to time...but we are all here because of one thing...so that makes us all 'friends' in some way...as odd as that is

very sorry for his family and for his girlfriend...losing a family member is something that one never really gets over...

To be honest, I had a look yesterday at the photos hese.t. e over the last two years but couldn' t find the strengh\courage to read his emails yet.,makes me too sad.He was always so full of life in his way of writting.

Yes of course I will tell his GF about your good words and eventially send her the link of the iorr page.
I sincerely hope I can meet her soon and talk about the things Mark loved. ..the Stones, the Doors, Paris...
