Ronnie Wood - Cancel Everything LP questions.
Posted by: Undercover1 ()

I bought this record years and years ago, and I have always wondered what the deal was with it.

Is this "Got My own Album ....." repackaged as an import?

Whats the story here?

It was the 1985 re-release of Own Album, this time making it very clear who the various participants were which the first one was a bit vague on.

Vague details on the original first issue of My Own Album ?? Not if you have the complete foldout inner of the original pressing. More details are not possible.

Let`s supersize it and have some fun finding all the details winking smiley

Sorry Munichhilton, my pictures disappeared. My fault. Sometimes this Picasa/gmail-stuff works, sometimes not. I try to fix it.
Well the british/german issues had a beautiful foldout inner with drawings and tons of details to every song. I supersized the pictures so you could have a detailed look at it. That was no joke. Hope it works now.

Tom

No , I´m doing something wrong. When I log out the pictures are gone.Any advices?Help is apriciated.Thanx, Tom

No need for sorry. I'd love to see what you have.
Does it name Mick Jagger?

I don't have advice for pictures, I use photobucket and their image links seem to work out nicely.
Thanks for trying.

The nicest issue of this album from a presentation point of view is the original French 'I've Got My Own Album To Do' LP where the insert was actually the centre spread of a gatefold :-)

Never seen the French one. I always loved Ronnie`s cover artwork with all these little drawings and writings.

yeah! don´t forget the gimme some neck artwork, it´s also fantastic, he didn´t return to such ideas, maybe the cd format also destroyed cover art...

Everybody, but George Harrison (for contractual reasons).
But there's a hint in Far East Man's far right box.

Thanx for the inlay, electricmud!
I think I never saw it before although I had the original album as well.
A bit like a mixture of Black and Blue's inlay and Gimme some neck painting . .

They didn't give out the insert with US copies of the album in '74.

I just happened to get one a when I bought a UK copy that was on sale for $2.99 in a cut-out bin in '79.

Figured I could use an extra copy of the record since I had worn out my original. I didn't even know the insert existed! Very nice surprise. It really adds to your appreciation of the album.

When they finally got around to putting out Ron's WB albums on CD, I was disappointed that they didn't include that insert, especially since they took the trouble to add an extra photo to the Now Look CD booklet that wasn't featured on the original album.

Some of the track appoints. are odd. Looks like often the drums and bass are on same track; yet in the same song there seem to be open tracks.
Or on "Act Together"- did they ping Keith's performances down to one track for some reason? Or maybe he brought parts already recorded on tape with him, and they expanded on it. ??
These are the very best liner notes. I love 70's albums.

Is there an online resource or wiki that shows what musicians played on each track? I expect someone has done this but I've done a quick search and can't find any websites with the track details. I don't have the vinyl any more, I only have the iTunes download version, so don't have the multitrack insert.

Maybe someone here can post the track/musicians details?

Cheers smiling smiley
