I recall even the Bigger Bang special edition which had a DVD had the two extra songs including Under The Radar on the DVD.

total bullshit – Bonus tracks on DVD don't make any sense. At least not in the way there are presented on the Stones' latest releases (btw same goes for Clapton's last live DVD.
Editing out some songs of a concert to present them as bonus songs is stupid and even worse than doing the same on CDs…

You can say that again ..........

They did it only to make sure everybody is buying the DVD/CD-package which of course is more expensive than the DVD. The CD´s present the concert in it´s original running order. Marketing tricks....

Are the bonus tracks also present on the BluRay?

It's not a bonus...it's a malus.
Whoever had that ridiculous idea had to much Cuba Libre.
Cutting out these songs ...man,that's too bad.
Next time they splice the show into parts selling volume 1 ( up to the band intro ) and 2...

Eerrr...
Sorry, but for me it makes a lot of sense to cut songs, since Havana Moon is a concert film to be played at cinemas. That means it's not supposed to be over 2 hours in length, unless you want to fall over in sleep.

That the bonus tracks is available, is a gesture to fans, to make them get the full experience. And actually I'm glad they chose to cut out some war-horses instead of deep cuts like "Out Of Control" or "You Got The Silver" and annoy us with the 117th version of "Miss You".

Re: BONUS TRACKS

5 songs cut to reduce the length by 15 minutes ??

"Miss You" on its own should make up for half of the 15 minutes. The other half could have been taken out by making "Sympathy for the Devil" into a bonus track.

I agree with Bluranger. I was grateful in the cinema that it wasn't a full concert. I believe it worked out perfect. However, I think they should have called the DVD/Bluray "uncut". Then we wouldn't have anything to complain about. But yeah, to call them bonus tracks is funny.

It's the setlist of the film simply, it is the film. And they wanted to present all missing tracks as well. And we get the whole show in the right order on CD. Where is the problem?

They're not really bonus in my opinion. They make it complete and uncut. On the CD anyways. Overall though it's not a problem for me but rather a comical way to make the consumer believe they're getting something extra. My two cents on the subject.

Would've been a problem to edit the tracks into the DVD/ Blu Ray release as they did it with the CD's ( the soundtrack) ?
It's a certain lacking flow when you watch the whole show...probably made sense for a movie at the cinema but not for a DVD release.

Greets,

It's marketing for casual fans who aren't aware that these tracks have been cut from the concert they've bought and think they're getting some extra stuff. Cupid Stunts.

It can be worse!
Somewhere in the beginning of the ninties I bought a video from a Cher concert in Vegas. You got the complete show. Years later they released the same show on dvd, but a couple of songs were edited out of the concert and than were put back on the same disc as bonus tracks!! Why?

I'm only disappointed that the menu option doesn't give you a 'play the complete concert in correct order' choice.

No matter, it's out there now for those who want it that way ....

I don't understand it also. there is no need to release it that way.

With AT THE MAX it's not a full show. It makes sense that it wouldn't be with this either. Putting the "bonus" tracks on is a treat - since HAVANA MOON is from one show. You get the release version and then what was left out. They probably figured it would be pointless to edit them back in, where as on the live record it's no big deal.

AT THE MAX was recorded over 3 shows or whatever it was about a tour - with a stage they didn't use for the Euro tour because for some reason they wanted the North American stage (which I've never understood).

Re: BONUS TRACKS

I think it's to limit piracy and sharing... If you want to post or even have these songs on your media player, first you've got to find a software program able to decrypt the encryption of the disc, then go through all of that audio extracting. And to Blueranger, the following movies are over two hours (120 min):
    [*] Zodiac (157 min)
    [*] Pulp Fiction (154 min)
    [*] A Clockwork Orange (136 min)
[*] The Shawshank Redemption (142 min)
    [*] Forrest Gump (142 min)
    [*] Casino (178 min)
    [*] Cast Away (143 min)
[*] The Deer Hunter (183 min)
[*] Eyes Wide Shut (159 min)
    [*] Titanic (194 min)

Many of these films are considered classics in their respective genre if not in general. In no way am I comparing watching Tom Hanks stuck on an island with a volleyball to a bunch of old experienced musicians onstage, but hey- it IS film.

I don't know Havana Moon yet. I guess they thought the concert was better without the 'bonus tracks' but then gave them to us anyway.
So, how are the 'bonus tracks,' Substandard or not?

The so-called "bonus tracks" aren´t substandard.
That version of Start Me Up is one of the best I´ve ever heard/watched. Brilliant.

Just wondering where in the rulebook it says films need to be 2 hrs or under?

Re: BONUS TRACKS

And is/ was it realy a movie made for the cinema?

It's just a dvd/blu ray release and they played it in cinemas just one evening to advertise it's release.

LSTNT, At the Max and SaL were realy made for the cinema, this one isn't.
It's also for a movie not that much special filmed and not better than the average made for TV recording.

For us, the fans, it's great, but for other people probably not that special.
