The 1975 Tour Anniversary
Posted by: batonrouge75 ()
Date: June 1, 2012 15:37

The Stones 1975 TOTA started 37 years ago today in Baton Rouge, La.

I was there for both shows!! They played Rocks Off during the first show for the only time on the 1975 tour.

During the 1st show first live performance of If You Can't Rock Me, It's Only Rock and Roll, Dance Little Sister, Fingerprint File and Luxury.

It was also Ron Wood's birthday and Mick announced it to the crowd.

Geraldo was there with his film crew.

My very first Stones show, July 31, Greensboro, TOTA '75.

In some ways, that seems like a million years ago. In other ways, it seems like about ten years ago!

Yes, I shot three rolls of film during the 1st show. We were on the front row infront of Keith's microphone. I haven't seen those photos in years. Some are great, some are not. HA!

Unfortunately, I was too young to attend The Stones shows in 76 (was only 13) in France.
How did the audience behave at that time ?
was there any fight ?

I would have to locate them. I have not seen them in 20 years.

oh,man-my first one.its so funny when i see people trying to dissect it from grainy videos and bad recordings and then tell us it wasnt that great, micks voice was bad and this and that-you just had to be there,it was soooo f/cking good.

keith was just in the zone all summer, killing it every night and jagger was flat out losing his mind onstage.a jack daniels and cocaine fueled rock and roll dream.

Visually my favorite Stones tour. The stage, Jagger's outfits/makeup, Woody, KRs torn jeans, Bills makeup. the dragon, cock...etc..

Good stuff. The guitar sound was their best since 69 too (IMHO)

Greensboro, NC. July 31st, 1975. My first Stones gig and I've not looked back since. I was down front with my cousin (we were 15 years old) and there's a great photo from the Greensboro paper in which you can see my cousin and one of my arms and head.

What a show! I couldn't hear for a week after that.

I've met a lot of other folks who were there at that show. At the time, I was playing in a band and living in Winston-Salem. We all went back after the concert and had a massive house party that evening that lasted until the sun came up.

Ahhhh......youth.......
