Complete disaster. You can't "forget" to mark Sjevtjenko in a fixed situation. This is worse than Poltava. I switched of my TV set after 2-1...

They didn't dare to attack until it was too late, although they had a couple of good chances in the end there.

It was just like watching Norway play, Sweden needs to step up a notch or two for the next games.

I'm third, but it's my surname that keeps me in that position smiling smiley

So far 4 out of 8 games with the right result, but never the right score.
But just like football, one can never tell what will happen next. I hope I have my prediction
for Holland-Germany wrong.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Here is a painting showing our second largest defeat in Ukraine. Then we only lost an army, this time, perhaps,
a place in the EC finals:

- The Battle of Poltava by Denis Martens the Younger, painted 1726

So the Swedish loss was no surprise at all. History repeats itself, as the French say (in French).

Don't throw your tv out of the window Stoneage. Only if you're in a hotel room.

I hear you, szef. I really meant the World Cup Marathon Table though. We are number 10 there with 61 points. Brazil is number one with 216 points, followed by Germany, Italy, Argentina, England, Spain, France, Netherlands, Uruguay and Sweden. In that order.

Forget about that list. It has no value at all. Spain at place 6. Don't make me laugh.

It's not a ranking, it's the actual points taken by each team during the history of the World Cup. Sure, you can laugh about it but then you would only be laughing at facts.

That's true, but if a team was great in the 40s, with most of the players dead and gone - and today's players stink - this list is worthless smiling smiley

A flying start by the Czechs: 2 goals within 6 minutes against the Greeks. Both times the goalkeeper didn't seem to act very well.

Just at the end of the first half a disapproved goal by the Greeks because of offside: maybe 2 mm, and impossible for the linesman to see. So he should have given the benefit of the doubt and approve the goal. Because that's the rule.

This team a real goal for the Greeks. An enormous mistake by the goalkeeper and a misunderstanding with one of the defenders: thank you! Greece - Czech 1-2.

Congrats Hansie!

I hope my predictions for tomorrow both will come true, especially concerning the classic game Holland-Germany cool smiley.

I told you before, Hansie. To win the pool you just have to play 1-1 on all the matches. It's about statistics, not luck or skill!

Good luck to all of you.

Well, in that case I wonder why you didn't join the pool.
And if everyone would follow that rule, where would be the fun of a pool ?
Besides that, it would only count for the matches in the group stage. Once the knock out system starts, a draw is impossible.

Great reasoning Hansie. I'm justly proud of my pool captain!
