Any news on next stones archive release?
Posted by: robertfraser ()

Am I right in thinking we should get the next release on 1st of June?

If so any leaks on what it is yet? I would put money on Alantic 89 but as they have already put out 2 with Ronnie and only one with Mick taylor it would been nice to get a full show from 70,71 or 72.

My guess is Leeds 71.

They have the multi-tracks, it's already a "famous boot" and the "Goodbye England" thing will give them an angle for the promotional video clip.

I think that show simply is too poor to put out. Philly 72, perhaps, would be a better choice.

However, most likely 7th Of July or Atlantic City would be the release, I think.

I haven´t given up hope about Honolulu 1966, though, it´s a great show in good quality.

I fear any pre-71 material might be somehow out of their control although a complete Leeds show, in stereo, would be most welcome. The El Macambo was NOT a pre-71 item.

Yes, this is absolutely a great idea! Especially somthing live from the 1967 European tour would be truly outstanding!!

Not what I've heard. Much more recent than that, and if its true, its a show thats never circulated too.

I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.

I want either Perth '73, LA benefit concert '73 with some of the older gems like No Expectations, or maybe Vancouver '72 to hear some rarities like Ventilator Blues.

Ok, this I don't understand. If it's never circulated, then it can't be a "famous bootleg". That's been the whole point so far of what they've been releasing. I'm not saying the information Gazza heard is incorrect, but it just doesn't jibe with the previous releases. But who knows?

The Horseshoe Tavern - Toronto 4.9.1997 - ?...
Port Chester / MTV 25.10.1997 ?
Waikoala Village 21.1.1998 ?
The Hard Rock cafe - private show - 16.11.2002 ?
Singapore, Mumbai 2003 ?
The phoenix - Toronto 10.8.2005 ?
Barcelona - private show 12.7.2007 ?

You could probaly eliminate the 2 private shows straightaway...............

If it's "much more recent" than Atlantic City '89 as Gazza claims, I am going to predict we get a show from the Licks Tour with an emphasis on lesser played songs.

So which shows have not been circulated, I would assume it can't be that many? Maybe Bergen 2006confused smiley

The problem with the 60's concerts are they were so short. Would they sell as well as longer concerts?

No Security Tour....arena, maybe San Jose. Great shows, both recorded for DVD.

The entire 1999 tour is in circulation.

There are, however, about 20% or more of the ABB tour that aren't. Percentage wise, the highest of any Stones tour since 1971, despite the fact that they played to about six million people.

I hope we don't get anything from the ABB tour.

There's a nice hint about which release could be next on RO.

How odd. I have some great sounding cuts from Leeds. But my Honolulu 66 is just some mono broadcast from an AM station.

And wouldn´t that be cool, a mono release from a radio show - Brian era?

Leeds is dry, sloppy and a bit uninspired, except for a few really good songs (SCB, LIV, Satisfaction for it´s uniqueness). However, the whole show is disappointing, imo.

If it is ABB tour show then I hope it includes the slow brooding 19th Nervous Breakdown.

Would've been great to have the Double Door in perfect multitrack quality but if it is the Phoenix 2005 show---that'd be just fine with me. I enjoyed hearing what I heard of the new "19th Nervous Breakdown" during that tour...only played twice. Here's the second time:
