Billy Idol

Worked with Steve Stevens for about 20 of his 30 years in the Biz.

And he is by no means "great", imo.

East River Pipe. Fascinating life history, too.

I own "Mel" and it is brilliant. A great heartbreak album.

Macca and Prince have both done a lot of "one man band " stuff.

..well as usual pesons with big ego's...who will be a good example and who has succeed as a soloartist coming from a very successful band? Must be Eric Clapton then...
- Paul Mc Cartney
- John Lennon
- George Harrison

PS. But they didn't have big ego's

You can not compare these gentlemens solo productions on even the same day with what they did in The Beatles ...John Lennons solo albums is far from for example David Bowie's from the same era...

Arguably, though, they began as solo artists a lot earlier than most people think, because from the White album forward it was just solo Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison, but with the same backing band.
