in 500 years this will have the status of mythology - moving and inspiring mythology -
and we are the incredibly fortunate witnesses
in the evenings and in the mornings,
when we set out on our journeys and when we return home,
we shall speak of them
i love the Rolling Stones

In 500 years, no one will be aware that there ever was a band called the Rolling Stones. I can understand wanting to believe that we have spent our lifetimes obsessing about something that "matters", but matters to whom? And in what context? Truth is, we've "wasted" our lives caring very deeply about something that matters not one iota. And I think it's okay to admit that, and embrace it.

I think in 500 years that people will be very much aware of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Nobody will talk about Van Halen.

I guarantee in 500 years people will still be talking about the damn Pink Floyd and Dark Side of the Moon

as i understand it at some point in the future you ain't gonna need to tell the truth or tell no lies...everything you think, do, and say is in the pill you took today
People will be talking about The Beatles way into the future, all the way to the year 3000 at least. I've seen the video proof:Quote

Name some musicians, popular in the year 1512, that people still talk about today.

They will talk about them only for as long as they still exist within living memory. In about 100 years from now, the last living person who saw the Rolling Stones will die. After that, there will be no more talk.

If that's the case then why do people still talk about Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart today? They not only talk about them but still hold them in such reverance.
