Just 2? For the King of Rock and Roll?

1. Let It Rock.
2. Promised Land.
3. Nadine
4. Maybelline

Are any of Chuck's recordings remastered?

Like Mick Taylor's guitar, Chuck's vocals were always loud.

No way I could narrow to two LOL. I was just playing this one (Together We'll Always Be) recently though and thought I'd share with those that don't know it. It's one his slow ones and has an awesome beginning.

You Never Can Tell - and then about a ten-way tie for second place, including Roll Over Beethoven, School Day, Promised Land, Around and Around, Maybelline, Havana Moon, Sweet Little Sixteen and so on and so on...

Can't be done. I like them all too much.

This morning, I'm in an Around and Around and Little Queenie mood.
It truly is an impossible question to answer.

Good for the brain though!

Beautiful Delilah is one that I don't believe that has been mentioned and the Rolling Stones surely did that one too. I believe a bootleg is called that.

I have this collection or close to it: [www.amazon.com] I may be missing it but even this selection doesn't have the song Emily Lou Harris does, Ce La Vie, that's another good one. I also see a Chuck Berry at the Filmore East CD. I had never heard of that one previously.

Oh yeah.

Dance baby (the Bat Dance probably).

OK, so I played this about 10 times yesterday with my guitar in hand.

What is this stuttery groove called? It's awesome, like the stuttery groove on Promised Land. The Stones do it well on some tracks. It's like no one plays on the beat.

It's great.

But maybe Promise Land and Nadine!

Let it Rock's a good contender too....so is You Never can Tell..... etc.

Don't know if it has an official name or not, but it's based around Johnnie Johnson's boogie piano - typical New Orleans music:

(The Stones probably get it from Stu)

"London Berry Blues" from the London Sessions. It's all of Chuck's tricks in one bag.

Yes, I have that Edmunds cover. He really gets Chuck right. Saw him play with Chuck at the Felt Forum in NYC during Chuck's 60th birthday tour. Dave did with Chuck what Keith did with Chuck in St Louis for the movie. It was quite a line up, Entwhistle on bass, Leavell on piano, and the drummer from Rockpile. Berry's playing was all over the place, but Dave held the songs true to their original formula.

It varies because there are so many great songs. Presently I am siding with:
Nadine
House Blue Lights and let's throw in Guitar Boogie for good measure.

Come On
Route 66
Little Queenie

also 2 of Stones greatest covers made live (Got live and ya ya's)

Route 66 by Bobby Troupe? Think so. Gives you another selection. smiling smiley

Some of these are ones I know like the back of your hand songs, Johnny B. Goode may well be his best most important song, I heard a cover of Brown Eyed Handsome man that makes that one of my favorite Chuck Berry songs.
