Martin Scorsese was awarded by the President of the French Republic on Monday, reports Le Parisien. The director, visiting Paris for the release of "Hugo Cabret", his new film, was made Commander of the Legion of Honour.
It was at the Palais Elysee that Martin Scorsese received the honour at a 30-minute ceremony bringing together a series of show business personalities, including Carla Bruni.
Also present to salute the director's talent were Minister of Culture, Frederic Mitterrand, director Roman Polanski, Fanny Ardant, Isabelle Huppert, Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott, the companion of the Stones' leader.
