Type "George" in a Google search, and your first option that pops up is "George Harrison."

RIP, George.

Really? I just tried it and the first thing that came up was Curious George, the cartoon monkey who lives with the man in the yellow hat.

I hoped that when Pope John Paul died the next pope would be called George & Ringo.

Jai Sri Krishna George!

I always like George, he was the really funny one with the silliest sense of humour.

I never got the way he still bought into all the guru nonsense thought after the Marharisi was busted.

Whoa. Ten years already? Feels like only yesterday . . . .

Just saw a great documentary on him.

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.

George was a real good man. Really like how he stayed true to himself and didn't let fame dictate his life. I sense that he really would of prefered not to be a Beatle in the end. One thing that he said that often rings in my head is "what am I doing here". I suppose he was fed up with this world and can't blame him. RIP George.

This is also the case for Paul and Ringo. I would say Google rocks but John Lennon is somehow has dropped to the fourth entry.

George and Dhani put some (instrumental only) overdubs on this in 2000 for the All Things Must Pass re-issue. Here it is without the overdubs.

If it is indeed true that George wrote and demo'd this tuned and gave it to Ringo (including writing credit) then it was a great act of generosity on his part toward his friend.

Jai Sri Krishna George!

I was born in '65 and named John Paul...my older brothers always told me I was named after The Beatles (it was actually after family members, of course, but made for a good story!) We had a cat named George at the time...however, no Ringo in the family.

Can't believe it's been 10 years for George - this is one of my favorite songs of his, one he wrote with Ringo and sings harmony vocals on (plus Nicky on piano and Bobby Keyes on tenor).

I've still got the 45.

I'm thinking maybe Big Brother Google tailors your search options based on recent history from your IP address.

So what does that say about you? grinning smiley

It feels like so much longer than that, but at the same time feels like yesterday because I remember it so vividly. I was in college and that day I just so happened to be wearing my Let It Be T-Shirt and somebody saw it and told me. The local classic rock station played the entire Beatles catalog in alphabetical order. I was working pizza delivery at the time so that afternoon/evening I was listening to it in my car. I was only 6 months old when John died, so this was the only time in my actual memory that a Beatle died, and I didn't realize how big of a deal it would be.

I might watch the Concert For George tonight, it's good stuff, but still sad after all this time.

The Maharishi "being busted" was a lie made up by Magic Alex according to Cynthia Lennon's book "John" and Barry Miles book about Paul "Many Years From Now".

I really really loved George's stuff-- I dug all phases of his career-- Beatles, solo, Indian w/ Ravi, all good--- what were your favorite George tracks?
Mine were: Dont Bother Me
I Need You
Think For Yourself (with some cool fuzz bass from Paul)
Love to You
Within You, Without You
Inner Light
Its All Too Much (killer track)
For You Blue
Here Comes the Sun
Something
Long Long Long ( an all time favorite of mine)
Guitar Gently Weeps
All Things Must Pass (the entire album was incredible)
Far East Man ( with Ronnie Wood )
Any Road
I Dont Want to DO it

I was lucky enough to see Georhe live in concert two nights in a row in 1974 and its something I will never forget---
God Bless you George

RIP George! Tatters some great stuff you posted. Especially, George's It Don't Come Easy! Awesome!

Let it Down is one of George's most heartfelt and poignant songs. So plaintive and beautiful.

One of his strongest vocals, too. I love the way he really shouts out the chorus.

October 16, 1992. His final live performance, in the same arena where John Lennon gave his final live performance, 18 years earlier. MSG had also been the site of George's greatest triumph, The Concert For Bangladesh. At that concert, Dylan had been George's special surprise guest. Here, George returns the favor, showing up to play at a 30th anniversary tribute concert to Bob.
