He's right here in Austin, Texas, at least a lot of the time.

Eddie Van halen??????Please.
And Clapton is so overrated. As is Hendrix
This guy really is good. I'd forgotten about him. He reminds me of Val Kilmer. LOL I was afraid you were going to post some mindless shredder. I can't stand it when I see some shredder, or even some 10 year old kid just mindlessly flying up and down the scales, doing their VanHalen tricks. It is more biology than music.Quote

I wasn't joking when I said Phil X earlier.
This guys guitar talent is immense, two thirds of the way through he does Hendrix's Fire.
Jaw dropping.
I would much listen to Phil X then most of the guitarists in the top 100 list.
Phil X is a YouTube legend and has done hundreds of great vintage guitar reviews for FrettedAmericana.

Yes, nice to see MT mentioned.
Sorry for the digression, but RS mag in the politics (online) section has a very nice article that sums up US tax policy for the last 40 years: "How The GOP Became The Party of the Rich." It is astounding and should be required reading for every voter in this country.

I forgot to mention there also is an article on the stones for a possible tour in 2012.Keith welcomes MT and Bill Wyman to tour and so does MJ.
Sammy Haggar - wants a stripped down tour with no backup singers let Keith sing some backup
Tom Petty - mentions he grew up on the early stones and mentions bring back Wyman and MT. He says Taylor was amazing.
Lenny Kravitz - also wants wyman and MT and suggested let RW play on his songs and MT play on the songs from his time.
Joe Perry - also likes the idea of a tour
play the guitar boy.

Yeah, Phil's not some kid (he's 45 now).
Phil X filled in for Richie Sambora recently on the Bon Jovi tour when Richie was.. er.. "ill"... he does a lot of session work as well.
Phil can play anything, any style (nearly, he'll wing it if he can't).
He makes guitar playing seem enjoyable, as it should be.
