"100 years ago"; a cover.

I love that song a lot. Sometimes I forget about it then unexpectedly I run into it. That is done very well by the duo. The singing is beautifull and the accoustic guitar is spot on.

One of the best Stones covers EVER.

"Sometimes I forget about it then unexpectedly I run into it."

Same here. And whenever that happens, it makes me happy.

Covers like these should give the Stones food for thought what great things could be done with their songs in terms of radical rearranging - maybe if they can't come up with satisfying new song material, this could be an idea for a great album.

Got into that. One of my fave tunes, thanks Mops.

PS: I love Goats Head Soup.

Should've have played this one instead of Mr D in the autumn (not that Mr D ain't a great tune but miles away from 100 Years). Chuck could take care of it together with Ronnie and Keith could play some lovely chops, a bit like they perform She's A Rainbow. 100 Years is such a gem!

This version is better than the original in my opinion and I rarely say that about covers of Stones songs.

They dropped it after two sports hall performances back in 1973 when it was brand new, because people in the audience did give no feedback. Do you think it would work 45 years later before 60.000, most of which don't even know Sticky Fingers?

I meant Sticky Fingers, not Goats Head Soup. I know which song is on which album.

"100 years ago" is very british maybe like Lady Jane or She's like a rainbow.
Mick jagger it seems to me was channeling the romantic English poets(Wordworth, Coledridge).Youth, nature, even the Gate are part of the imagery and it fits perfectly. The cover takes the song into a soul/gospel feel; no harm there because it also appeals to the audience's sensibility.
The music of the rolling stones is an endless mine of gold;if one takes the time to search into it one will always find something precious among the rubbles wellknown greatest.
Rockandroll,
Mops

Binky is Dap-Kings' guitarist. Great work with Sharon Jones and Amy among others!
