This indicates that the big PR campaign is really on its way preparing the 2012 celebration:
1- Superheavy
2- Some Girls with extra tracks
3- Live in Texas in cinemas
4- Live in Texas DVD + Blu Ray
5- Maroon 5 - Moves like Jagger
6- Brussels Affair
7- Jagger + Will i am + Jennifer Lopez
8- What will be next...?
...can a surprise appearance (TV maybe...like SNL) by the Stones celebrating Some Girls deluxe be in the works?
Anyone agree?

Agreed; Jagger said: by end of 12 we'll be sick and tired of the Stones. (Can never happen!)

So WHY are we just hearing about Mick on the AMA NOW? They have been running promos for the show for 4 weeks and NEVER have they listed Mick as a performer or presenter. That strikes me as odd!

the song will be on AMA. nobody has said jagger will be too.
the video will be out shortly. nobody has said jagger will be in it.
strange if he is on the single, but not on any of the visual versions of it,
but strange is the order of the day as far as we can tell.

Multi-platinum producer and songwriter will.i.am will release a solo single,
entitled “T.H.E (The Hardest Ever),” featuring Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez, on
Sunday, November 20th. He will premiere the track in a performance with Lopez on
this Sunday’s American Music Awards telecast, which airs on ABC at 8/7c. Produced
by will.i.am, Audiobot, and Dallas Austin, “T.H.E (The Hardest Ever)” will be made
available on iTunes immediately following will.i.am and Lopez’s performance.
“T.H.E (The Hardest Ever)” is the debut single from The Black Eyed Peas founder and
frontman’s new solo album, #willpower, which will be released next year on
Interscope. A video for the song, directed by Rich Lee and shot in Los Angeles and
London, will be released later this month.
An understatement would be that this takes some getting used to.Quote

still nothing but rumors about Mick's participation at the AMAs on in the video.
the following is typical of current media reports:
will.i.am with Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez will share the stage with Black Eye Peas front man Will.i.am. The
two recently collaborated on his single "Hard," along with Mick Jagger. Jagger
is not on the performers' list but would be a fantastic surprise -- both for
this performance and a little booty shaking with Aguilera and Maroon 5.

The will.i.am guy looks pretty ridiculous in his space suit.
Right: will this be for sale somewhere? Or only on iTunes or Google music.

Another case of trying to stay relevant to a broader audience.
Another thing people seem not to want to accept is that Mick simply does not
listen to the same music as Stones fans anymore. He says that at home alone
he mostly listens to jazz, to develop his melodic sense, and when out and about,
with friends, he mostly listens to hiphop/dance.
He's not making any kind of historical judgement. He's not saying that hiphop/
dance is better than, or as good as, or as important as the blues, from some
sort of critical perspective. He's just saying that is what he likes to listen
to these days for pleasure.
Seems clear that if he had his druthers, and audiences would accept it, he'd
like to be making a lot more contemporary stuff. But the larger audience wants
him to do Stones things, so he does. He still likes the blues well enough that
its not torture for him to do it. He still finds magic in the blues.
Many of you seem to think Mick doing dance/pop is a cynical ploy. How about
if the simple truth is that these days he just really likes it more than the
kind of music you like?
Agreed, except some of the noises these people make does not qualify as being music or sounding "musical".Quote

Another case of trying to stay relevant to a broader audience. Only one song, but JLo and BEP rank in my 'Really Sucks' musical category.
