Brian on Try A Little Harder-1964?

I've always loved this 1964 Stones tune which appears on Metamorphasis and, later, The London Years box set. It's got that really swinging early '60's sound with that nice echoey bass pattern. The two things I love about the track is the really deep-sounding lead guitar riff and the saxophone. According to the scant sources about this song, neither Brian nor Keith play guitar (featuring Jimmy Page instead). But the guitars totally sound like Brian and Keith! And Brian knew how to play sax, so I have often wondered who actually plays what on this track and if Brian is on it.

As you say, details are scant but it's quite likely that the only Stone present is Mick. This was one of the demos that Oldham recorded hoping to sell on to other artists. Most of side one of Metamorphosis is made up of such demos and to call them "Rolling Stones" tracks is somewhat stretching things a bit!
