Wolfgang Niedecken, 60, is seriously ill.

Niedecken is founder and lead singer of the German rock group BAP, founded in 1976. He sings the lyrycs in Cologne dialect; musically BAP is influenced by the Stones, Dylan and Springsteen.

On June, 28th, I saw him solo, he did a great encore: SFTD, only with acoustic guitar.

BAP was opening act of the Stones in Cologne in 1982 and 1998.

On Wednesday Niedecken collapsed at his home in Cologne. Newspaper says: "He only survived, because ambulance arrived very quickly!"

My best wishes to him and his family: Wolfgang, recover soon!

To Mick, Keith, Cahrlie, Ronnie, Bill and Mick T.: Take care!!!

Time waits for noone.

BAP were a great opener in Cologne 1999. It was the end of the world tour. It is one of my greatest Stones memories. Keith Richards performed in a fantastic way through the driving rain that night.- Hopefully Niedecken will recover soon All the best!

I wish him all the best. The rumor goes that he suffered from a very serious stroke (Schlaganfall that is in German). May he recover soon!
Saw his band BAP a few times in the eighties, also in Cologne as opening act for the Stones. They were great!
