Someone just posted a video on Facebook from 1972 where he throws a bucket of water into the crowd during JJF and then goes to another container and grabs handfuls of rose petals and throws them on the crowd as well. It was filmed in Canada.

According to Greenfield's S.T.P. it was unusually hot in Toronto for the '72 show. Someone claimed the temperature onstage was 147 degrees (!) When the band came off stage at the end, Keith fainted from heat exhaustion. Might explain the water bucket.
