Emotional Rescue Guitars

Just came across this bootleg on YouTube and, without any specific time details listed, decided to listen to Emotional Rescue to find out if it's the same one as on STATIC IN THE ATTIC.

It's not. It's got more guitars in it!!! Reggae influenced guitars - way more than anything on the LP version. The editing is a bit different, although the ending is the un-edited ending. The vocals are a good bit different as well - during the chorus it sounds like Keith really did some harmonies. Even the intro is a bit different (mix wise).

21:01 is where it starts. The full version of She Was Hot (there goes the telephone) is also on this.

Nice but that guitar sounds way too "out of the mix"...like it was added ;-)

I think Keith's guitar is there on the original studio recording, too, but it's buried ridiculously down in the mix.

I liked the guitar version thumbs up

Now I understand why he picked up those reggae licks for ER on the current live versions smiling smiley

That's the radio DJ-version of She Was Hot, for the first time in right speed, and with better sound, as far as I can tell. GREAT! thumbs up

I love the 1978/79-sound of Neighbours. This is how it would have sounded live on the 1978-tour. Great stuff thumbs up

Ronnie is singing «just lovely» on Can't Cut The Mustard grinning smiley

Cool link. And I love the super-long "Keep It Cool" jam.

But this has been out for at least two years, right?

I hadn't heard ER with Keith's guitar (and other Mick vocals) or the DJ-version of She Was Hot with correct speed and great sound quality before.

Keith singing harmony on the ER chorus is fantastic. And the guitars. I've never heard this one before until yesterday. And yes, the SWH at the correct speed is great!

There's gotta be a way to copy the songs individually to MP3. I know the whole thing can be converted...

Who's doing the piano on "Keep it Cool"? Its Ronnie on Bass I think.

Love the ER version. Had never heard it. Keith's version. Would have made it a different tune. He tried to make it Stones-y.

Keith's mix of ER - so this is part of the war that Mick and Keith screwed around with for, apparently, ages, in terms of getting the mix down. I forget where I read that, some book.

Only a few bits of Keith's guitar were kept for the final version, unfortunately.

Yeah, I bet that the dispute over the mix (Bockris's book?) was about ER.

Is «Keep It Cool» and «Smooth 180» the same track?

But this was released on those Foxes in the Boxes or something a couple years ago, right? I have it on my Ipod for some years, thought it was released on these boots.

I have no idea. I don't have and have never heard of those bootlegs.
