OT - Paul McCartney strikes out again

"Paul McCartney's ballet Ocean's Kingdom: that sinking feeling"

"The ex-Beatle wrote the score for Ocean's Kingdom and his daughter Stella made the costumes – what could possibly go wrong? A damp squib of a story, that's what"

Heck, for a minute I thought Macca had got into one of those nasty street fights again.

Macca needs to have a chat with Bono and The Edge

Perhaps. But he always wins at "moneyball."

What a shallow comment. There is more to the world than just rock and roll. Lennon had varied tastes. Ballet is a beautiful melding of classical music and dance. Some great stuff...but alas some find it hard to appreciate other cultural opportunities.

Why is McCartney doing ballet? Really who the hell wants to see a ballet by Paul McCartney?

I guess you could say the same thing about Jagger. Who the hell wants to see Mick Jagger doing reggae in a "supergroup" that isn't so super?

These two should get back to doing what they do best and lose these side projects that nobody cares about.

They care about them. Thats all the justification any of them need.

I'm sure the people that go to see it care and the people that paid him to do it also AND i'm sure Paul cares but I bet he doesn't care about your commnents

We blast the Stones for playing the same old warhorses, Then we criticise someone when they try something new. You can't win when you're famous.

"Take all the pain...It's yours anyway"

If Paul's not doing anything, maybe he should play bass on the next Stones album and tour.

Fortunately for Sir Paul, he is at the stage in his life and career where he can indulge himself and not give a rat's ass what anyone thinks, and God bless him for it.

He has three albums coming out within the year. The classical piece, an album of standards, and a straight forward rock and roll album. The man is amazing.

and a straight forward rock and roll album

Thrilling!(ton) We judge him after some listening to it....

I wish he would do a folk album, just him and his Texan.

Yes. I've always preferred him singing gentle acoustic ballads rather than rock & roll.

Macca is his own man and if he feels like touring he just does it .He obviously liked the ballet idea and working with Stella.Gotta admire the guy for no fuss, just getting on with it.The few gigs he did just before Christmas must have given so much pleasure to his fans, including The 100 Club just on impulse. >grinning smiley<

I admire Sir Paul for attempting new projects and not sitting on his "arse" like some performers we know and love

But he is doing something, he's recording and he's on permanent tour.

What 71Tele said. Strikes out "again"? A rare miss in a career full of homeruns? If any of us on here who write or indulge ourselves artistically had 1/100th of the success McCartney has had we would die fulfilled.

That would ruin the last good impression of Stones.

Think of it this way. If someone had even 1/1000th of his success, that would still make them a millionaire.

Macca's good, but he's no Bill Wyman.
