Haven't seen you 'round in a while, and I knew you had computer problems.

Culture shock?
Well, I suppose at a Houston show in '98, someone near me was threatened with arrest for smoking dope in a public place.
Turns out a cop was seated close by trying to enjoy the show, and was very annoyed that he might have to arrest this guy and miss the show.
The guy put out the joint.

No, it wasn't me, in either case. smoking smiley

Don't know if this fits the topic, but at VooDoo show in Atlanta, a couple of guys got into a big fight, real close to my group.
They came forward a row or two over tops of seats before security booted'em out.
I'm not used to that type shenanigans, so, yeah it was different for me smiling smiley

I was with some friends at the Pilot Inn having a quick bite to eat before going to the last Stones concert at the O2 Arena. By the time we finished our meal, the pub was nearly empty as there had been a mass exodus of concert goers heading to the arena. As we left the pub, I was dismayed to see the enormous amount of trash that was been strewn all over the lawn at the Inn. I was really disappointed in my fellow Stones fans, that some would leave such a mess behind, for someone else to clean up.

To learn that Bryan Adams was the opening act - and then to hear how every song he did was a Top 10 hit (at least it seemed that way).

Going to see them in Shanghai was interesting. Not culture shock per se, but interesting seeing how rigid the security was with seating and selling of merchandise. And how the scalpers were out in full force probably not even know why this "group" was so popular and people would be willing to pay close to a year's salary for one ticket. Very interesting.

Yep, if it's too hot or too cold for me, I'll leave it to the seagulls - nothing wrong with that

I've seen the Stones in Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, DC, St Louis and Chicago innumerable times. The last time I saw them my wife and I flew to Ireland for the Slane Castle show. It was the same as any show in the States, anywhere. The only "culture shock" we experienced was:

1. Heineken being the only beer sold at the show - in the land of Guiness.

2. There were open troughs for the guys to urinate in visible to one and all.

3. Several people, perfect strangers mind you, sincerely invited us to their country homes the next day as we were staying in Dublin and they wanted us to experience "the real Ireland."

4. We didn't know what Wellington boots, or "wellies," were until it was too late.

Went to see them at Wembley in the 90's and as we were getting nearer we heard on the radio that the concert was cancelled due to keith cutting his finger on a string. we didn't want to believe it so we carried on then saw the large iluminated sign saying CONCERT CANCELLED. Well I have never seen so many depressed people, some were in tears just wandering around the outside of the staddium. I also felt verry depressed, we just wandered round London not knowing what to do.
