It is funny that somebody tries to present Sweden as a great music country and is mentioning ABBA. I love the swedish guitarist Göran Söllscher, there has also been the great Esbjörn Svensson, but if you enjoy ABBA, go ahead. Volvo and Saab are great as well, my family once had a wonderful Volvo we called Carl Gustav.

What´s so funny about that? Swedens biggest music export ever, 400 million records sold worldwide...

Germans vs the Swedes.

At least better than another boring Beatles vs. Stones thread.

Sweden is a beautiful country with beautiful women, landscapes, music... so there is no German vs.Swedish sentiment.

Well, how much you germans try you will never ever have that much success regarding music and musical exports that we have in Sweden, as i wrote above i suggest that you keep on going with the cars. Porsche is the best car in the world and i love the 911 forever.

I don't know who's the worst, Scorpions or Europe - Lena Meyer or Ace Of Base.

All I know is, from my crappy music country, there wouldn't have been any international Turbonegro-success if it wasn't for Germany. Norwegians didn't even notice the band before they got recognition abroad...

Ok, so you hint that Germany are as good musiccountry as Sweden, how stupid is that...ever heard of ABBA?

You ever heard of Ludwig van Beethoven ???

Haha..thumbs up

Ahh, Heinje, the little dutchman!!! That can really explain the SuperHeavy No.1 position in The Netherland, I see smoking smiley

And The Rolling Stones will avoid the german market because of too high chart positions here [de.wikipedia.org] ...?

SH haters will hate but you can't deny Jagger is successful at hitting a new "market" : young people who barely know the Stones repertoire.

Call it "Peter Pan syndrome" it's okay but at 68 Jagger finally managed to speak to the young audiences. Good for him and his self-confidence.

His wife of 45 years I mean Keith is going to castigate him for trying to appeal to young people but hey that's life grinning smiley

Thanks, I think. I'm not sure if those clips were more boring or disturbing...I may have missed the connection.

Anyway, I was only being 'flippant' in my Germans vs. Swedes comment...just was noticing that we were getting an argument about something entirely irrelevant.

Populärmusik Från Vittula isn't boring, it's a very nice movie, a kind of a documentary movie about the very beginning of rock music. A must see!
