Dreaming of the perfect festival line-up
Posted by: EddieByword ()

During my festival days I would sometimes come away from them thinking "well, yeah, that was great but......".......either there were a couple of bands there I didn't like much or sometimes some that I'd never heard of......occaisionally I'd hear something from them I liked but not always....this was better but still not perfect.....anyway I did get to wonder a few times "Just what would be my perfect line up for a day festival ?"..
This was the answer.......

Madness
Sex Pistols
The KLF
Roger Waters
Neil Young
Peter Tosh
Ian Dury & the Blockheads
And finally of course The Rolling Stones

How about you ?

Mine could only ever come true in a dream of course because Ian Dury is dead..............................sad smiley

Back in reality land the Saturday of the recent Hop Festival in Kent, UK, was as near as it gets - Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Iggy and the Stooges, and Manu Chau. Oh, and for The Smiths fans there was Morrissey.
On the Friday there was Bryan Ferry and The Eagles and on the Sunday there was Prince. So it shows that you can still get great festival line ups.

In no particular order

1.) The Doors
2.) The Rolling Stones
3.) Led Zeppelin
4.) The Beatles
5.) Stevie Wonder
6.) Bo Diddley
7.) Albert King
8.) Van Halen
9.) The Doobie Brothers
10.) The Four Tops
11.) Muddy Waters
12.) Ray Charles
13.) Jimi Hendrix Experience
14.) KISS
15.) AC/DC
16.) Black Sabbath
17.) Motorhead
18.) Kool & The Gang
19.) George Thorogood & The Destroyers
20.) Pantera
21.) Bad Brains
22.) Guns n Roses
23.) Sly & The Family Stone
24.) Curtis Mayfield
25.) The Monkees
26.) Howlin' Wolf
27.) The Blues Brothers
28.) Judas Priest
29.) Hank Williams
30.) Marvin Gaye
31.) Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
32.) Chuck Berry
33.) Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble
34.) Rev. Gary Davis
35.) Fury Lewis
36.) Thin Lizzy
37.) Elmore James
38.) Hound Dog Taylor and the House Rockers
39.) Garth Brooks
40.) The Charlie Daniels Band
41.) Big Momma Thornton
42.) ZZ Top
43.) BB King
44.) Eric Clapton
45.) Cream
46.) Bill Haley & His Comets
47.) Body Count
48.) The Spinners
49.) Queen

Festival closer:
50.) Robert Johnson

What would make this the perfect festival line-up: it would be a 50-day festival--each band/performer giving a 4-8 hour performance each day of the festival.
