I still like this song. The first time I heard live it was in Milano. It was a bit chaotic, but the band seems to appreciate .

GREAT in Atlantic City

I'm beginning to envy fans who can listen to Stone's studio output post 1989. I tried to listen to Voodoo Lounge the other night and couldn't. Bridges, Bigger Bang, I can listen to 'Rough Justice' and that's about it. There's some songs from that period that still sound good live, but the last three studio albums have become dead to my ears.

They did STREETS OF LOVE great live (at least when I saw them at the MGM Grand in Vegas). Even Charlie said in reference to the song, (paraphrase from memory) "You're never sure in advance what songs will go over well live."

Terrible song, live or not. A sort of Goddess outtake thumbs down

I'm sorry but Streets of Love is probably the Stones song I dislike the most. It's too ingratiating. Like coffee with too much sugar.

Doesn't mean it's good...

Yes it does, under the rules of the Klaxetivi theorem.

I must admit...that live version - and all of them of this song - is still of an awful bad song. I must admit, live or not it's still awful bad. I must admit, it's the same as having a bad picture on an HDTV - a really great clear picture of a bad picture. They ignored all but one or two of the good songs from A Bigger Bang on that tour and played this awful bad song? That's just awful...bad.

Liked it on the album & liked it live.

Never quite understood all of the bashing - there are certainly other songs on ABB that could have been clobbered but it was always SOL that took the biggest hit.

It's not like Dave Matthews was accompanying Mick - then it would have deserved all the bashing it received.

And on the same time you probably praice: Say, say, say, Silly love songs, Ebony and Ivory, Mull of Kintyre, Imagine and whatever crap Beatles or Beatles related people have composed (the same can be said about U2 / Phil Collins).
How unbaised can you be!!!!
People certainly without an honest critic do not like Stones ballads.

It would probably a great song for Mick's solo album, but not as a Stones song....they made some better ballads

Then go for great ballads like: Wild Horses, Tumbling Dice, Fool To Cry etc.

Nobody appreciate that. People on this board only like to put down Stones songs, not to appreciate good songs - listen to this (Mick sings better than Macca and Lennon) - they don't need harmony vocals in 4, they need and have ONE good singer and Keith doing the rest.

And Charlie plays good on drums, Darryl plays good on bass - what is wrong about their music? Don't people like their jazzy style?

By the way take a look to this - have you ever seen Macca or Bono like this? No..... they are too clumsy.....

Maximum Bono: mmmmm, we have where....... blind man playing guitar, mmmmmmmm, I am the gift to world, mmmmmm...., where is mr. Bush mmmmmm. etc?
Mick doesn't talk stupidity like that.

This is a Stones board and no a NoStones board.

Great version at Berlin Olympia Stadium 2005. The cool breeze was blowing and it really fitted the song.

I saw it twice live:
Barcelona 2007
and Lisboa 2007 as well.

Both times the song was a show stopper and the crowd loved it.

Sappy tune with the worst guitar solo ever on any Stone's recording.

I like it very much, with the exception that the trio of lines that ends in "chance" makes me wince. But I like the rest of it, including the rest of the lyrics.

Fans bashing it is funny inasmuch as I'm reminded of what Orwell said about Tolstoy's disdain for Shakespeare. Orwell said, "Tolstoy hated Shakespeare's work and he wanted everybody else to hate it, too!"
