Very sad news, it is a sport but danger of death is very real.

RIP Justin

RIP Justin. I used to follow open wheel racing but when Indycar formed its own league and split the series in two with CHAMPCAR, it watered the sport down and NASCAR rose through the ranks. I watch NASCAR now and enjoy the races, even if the majority of races are on speedways where they're basically going in circles!

Prior to Indycar he drove in F1 for Minardi and Jaguar Racing. A reminder how dangerous motor sport is, very sad.

We have the same story on this, it was sad dwindling days when Indycar spoiled the well and CART did wha they did. No one won in that deal.

Nice to hear the fellow is giving such gifts. Such a sad story, he was apparently a gentle and kind soul. RIP Justin.

I wonder if any additional safety measures like enclosed cockpits will implemented to prevent this type of accident? I know it is a dangerous sport but technology has come a long way....if top fuel guys can use canopies it's probably time for the Indy guys to do something.

An impressive tribute across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco - [www.bbc.co.uk]
