Favorite Charlie Sound

I recently got the Official version of Ladies and Gentlemen. During Mick's 2010 interview in the special feature Both he and the interviewer mention how great Mick Taylor's performance is in the film, and of course it is. But I have to say after watching this again for the first time in a while, what really stood out for me was Charlie. His playing and the sound mix really make this edition of L&G showcase for his drumming. A couple times I went away from the TV and could just hear the music and was really impressed at how good he sounds. Also, the Studio version of Beast Of Burden has always been a favorite of mine for listening to Charlie.

The drum break in Winter...it takes the song into a whole new dimension.

Was going to mention the drums stepping up at the end of YCAGWYW but that's Jimmy Miller.

The drums in Sway aren't bad either.

Minimal kit massive sound! They are all good, but I particularly like Child of the Moon, Dance little sister and the fantastic Hand of fate.

Brilliant. And I've read a few times here that Charlie couldn't get this groove going live, but at least on Ya Ya's it's the exact same lick on the intro and verses. Maybe it's the lack of the great cowbell.

Honky Tonk Women hands down - Studio. He has NEVER captured that sound live with that song and I don't know why!

Moon is up

"what's that Charlie?"

When was the last time Mick used the Charlie reference in Tumbling Dice, as he did on many shows in the 70s?
