Sure it was a no brainer for me to see them even with these faults for the last 2 or 3 tours but it ain't cute anymore. Especially considering the actual quality of the playing has become more and more inconsistent in recent years.

For them to go on tour with the exact same arrangement and execution would practically be the band giving fans the finger, saying "yeah we know we're robbing you blind...feck off and deal with it."

I would only want to see them do a televised tv show from the Marquee Club in London, where they play to a small audience and they bring back some of their old band members.

I would also like to see Mick Jagger play Vegas, but I think he may not be talented enough to pull it off. Jagger is no Elvis Presley.

I'd rather have a chance to see them again even in decline. How many more chances could we possibly have to see the whole band?

Why start at 1964? If it's a 50th anniversary tour then they should include the first two hits from 1963 too!

They can only tour for so long; once they are not a viable band, the "vaults" will be wide open so they (and their heirs) can still have an income stream.

The key is 'whichever of the two they can do properly'.

I'm pessimistic about their desire to change the format of the live shows and even more pessimistic about their musical chops after a five year break when theyre pushing 70.

However, I'm not overly convinced of their ability to do their archives justice either. Or even that there's enough quality studio material - in finished form - to do it justice (I've no qualms about their live and video archives)

Would one of those be Brian Jones? Because the Marquee's dead and gone as well.

It must be hell for a man like Sir Michael who repeatedly has said that he doesn't like "to dwell on the past" to have to remove the dust from old, unfinished recordings from Anno Dazumal! It probably feels like community service for him!

Tour, no matter how scary it may get. The vaults are going to open sooner or later, but a new tour is no guarantee.

Trouble is, the vaults may not open until after the Stones are dead, and though I'm 30 years younger than Jagger I fear he may still outlive me. So if the choice was "open the vaults now because you won't live to see their inevitable opening OR new tour," I'd take vaults. But I want my cake and to eat it too: tour in 2012, vaults to follow a year or two after tour ends (I believe I can hang on that long, if nothing else just to hear the outtakes on the overpriced box set).

While it's still possible, new live performances or an album, please. The vaults aren't going away: plenty of time for that later.

If the tosh from Exiles re-release is any barometer, I'd settle for a new tour. I have become over-exposed and am actively deleting Stones material from my iPod these days. But a tour is a nice thing; travel, meet old friends, see new places etc

I'd think i'd take opening the vaults, longer lasting reward. I wouldn't want them to touch them though.
