I want to hear suggestions from the board. Here is what I don't have and have never heard any of them, which one should I get next?


12X5, December's Children and Everybodys, Flowers, Their Satanic Majesties Request, Emotional Rescue, Undercover, Dirty Work, Steel Wheels, Bridges to Babylon, A Bigger Bang,

and I have heard Jamming with Edward so I better catch up.

IMHO: 12x5 for early original Stones. Steel Wheels for latter Stones.

TSMR first. Then the rest.

and Emotional Rescue or Undercover for middle stones?

Decembers and Undercover, absolutely!!

Go for Bridges to Babylon to be pleasantly surprised.
Try Satanic Majesties and you'll be thoroughly surprised.

If you want to have the best ones first, you should buy them in the following order:

1. Bridges To Babylon
2. A Bigger Bang
3. Flowers
4. Emotional Rescue
5. 12x5
6. Their Satanic Majestic Request
7. Steel Wheels
8. Decembers Children
9. Undercover
10. Dirty Work

Just start with 12x5 and then the rest of your list!

If you already love the Stones, do them in order. If not, Emotional Rescue then Steel Wheels.

If you can't decide, just get all of them!

So you do have albums like Out Of Our Heads??? If so, which edition? There are two different versions which are quite different from each other and are both equally good, but for different reasons.

I think onlystones idea of getting them in the order they were released it the best idea yet....since, in general, judging from the records you already have, most of the ones you don't are going to have stiff competition.

If you need a laugh, get THEIR SATANIC MAJESTIES REQUEST.

If you need a really good long hard painful laugh get DIRTY WORK. DIRTY WORK is easily their worst LP of all time. Real Stones fans can admit it, regardless of liking whatever songs on it.

Just get the lot .... you'll save on fuel ... footwear ... IORR space ...

No need to make a plan, just grab them whenever you can, they're all worth having. I just picked up Decembers Children from a street vendor today.

Emotional Rescue next. Then December's. Then Satanic Majesties.

Those are all awesome albums. I'd get Steel Wheels

For their early period, 12x5.
Mid-period, Undercover.
Late period, Bridges to Babylon.

- and Their Satanic Majesties just for the hell of it. There's good things on there along with the weirdness.

But getting them in release-order is a good strategy, too,

It seems a lot of people are concurring... Get them in order!!!! I promise you that however you get them, just continue to listen and you will get hooked, no matter which order you listen to them. I didn't study the Stones in order but as I've said before, my favorite is what I'm listening to at that moment. Right now its Jigsaw Puzzle (BB mono version).

Tell Me isn't an album, it's a single.

Who mentioned Tell Me? I must have missed that post.

Be sure to get the latest remaster of 12x5. Great stereo versions of Stones classics on it.
Then get either Emotional Rescue or Undercover if you want to hear later days Stones. The songs are maybe not as compelling as on the previous albums but the band plays great.

Sound on these two, particularly Emotional Rescue is pretty awesome as well.

I'd buy in the order you listed. Starting with 12x5.
