tonterapi
There is only one song in the whole world that can make me choked up and shed some tears. It's in swedish by artist Håkan Hellström and written by the magnificent Björn Olsson.
I don't know who Håkan wrote the lyrics for but for me it's about the love and hope I feel for my little son who is about to turn 1 year old in about a month. So it's very personal thing but it hits the spot.

I think this was written so people would have something to listen to when they decide it's time to slit their wrists.

Lou Reed's "Berlin" record is not only tear-inducing, it makes you want to jump off a bridge.
At least play the whole thing.Quote

I don't think that I'm able to translate the lyrics but it's made like a lullaby for a baby about the things that will be and come in the baby's life and hope that this life will be a long and good one. It's not cheesy like many other songs written by parents but rather honest and poetic. Very swedish in a way.Quote

Well, I would have to agree with you it is a sad song. It has me tearing up and I can't understand one word that he is saying.
For starters John Holm is sadly very underrated!Quote

Cripes, what a thread. Well, I hope this one is suitably depressing enough for you.
