I tried searching the ng to see if this has already been
asked. Does anyone have a list of what films were used for the
"Following the River" video? The scene with the farmers playing
dominoes looks as though it's a John Ford movie. Or, if this has
been covered, it'd be appreciated if you could point me toward where
to find it. I usually don't like music videos, but this one is nothing
short of brilliant.

The RS site describes it as "an atmospheric blend of film, animation, and archive footage" w/ sepia. So some film is new and some is archived. So what movie/movies, etc, are the scenes from??

I find it scary that Ron Wood can run out of money so fast.
I know that has nothing to do with this great film, but it seemed
like an appropriate song to sing of poor Ron's financial plights...
Makes sense when you think about it...

FTR is sung from the point of view of an eel, plunging haplessly downriver to the Sargasso Sea
it's sobbing. and wearing shades. and the hands are metaphors, because - dig this - eels don't have hands!

I'm more amused by "a sssoul" than anything else.

If you work Eel Pie Island into this, I'll be as impressed as I was with the Edith Grove connection to "Rain Fall Down." Sometimes I think this forum deserves a Best of IORR book. Other posts or threads (including many of my own) should be buried and forgotten.
