Sorry I don't have pictures or links but I'll throw in a few names anyway...

Willie Dixon for his playing as well as writing and producing.

Johnny B. Gayden worked with Albert Collins and who knows how many others. He was also Alligator Records main studio bass player for years. Awe inspiring how huge a groove this man can create.

Victor Wooten for being the first bass player I ever saw/heard who made me realize that, no matter how much I practiced, I'd never be able to do what he does. Other than the fact he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met, I'm still not convinced he's human. Brilliant player/composer.

i think some of you are confusing memorable with greatest. i don't think bootsy is the greatest bassist but he sure is memorable hence my reason for choosing him.
