IAN STEWART - was he mentioned in CROSSFIRE HURRICANE ?

Great Post - here about Stu's finest moments - but I remember going to the premiere of CFH In Edinburgh, and coming out thinking you know what I don't think I heard Stu's name mentioned or a picture/ video. I felt sad being Scottish that there was no mention of the 'Laird of Pittenweem' in a documentry about the rise and current status of the Stones.I have not bought the DVD to check. so I stand to be corrected.

He did but for some reason it's been buried in the "Rolling Stones World Tour 2012-2015" thread: [www.iorr.org]

Thanks Deltics I wondered where it had gone.

He was not mentioned at all, and seen only from the back in a split-second shot during the opening scenes shot during the 72 tour.

So much about the "friendship" of the Stones and Stu. All of them treated him like a servant all the way. There's no excuse for it.

I was very disappointed and well...kind of pissed, that he wasn't mentioned. Then again, "Crossfire Hurricane" is very much Mick's story of the band (as Producer), and the narrative really doesn't begin until 1965--after Stu was booted out. It's as if the early, formative years never happened.

It's as if they never lost their entire catalog-to-date to Alan Klein too.
The film doesn't fulfill its stated aims.
When the director's been interviewed about it, I got the very strong impression
that the final product isn't at all the film he wanted to make, but he got the daylights overruled out of him

For me, CH is "Stones Lite" There are a few cool clips I hadn't seen before but, for the most part, this is a documentary for people who aren't really into the Stones but want to be able to chime in with something if the subject comes up at a cocktail party.

(And, before I get irate emails from other IORRers, this is just MHO based mostly on what was left out of CH and not a blot on anyone's devotion to the band.)

It's okay to see it for what it was, a product for the masses. There are some interesting parts not seen before, but for the most part was for the average fan, not the people who come here. They seem to be putting out products for both. The vault releases are for us.
