The DumDum Boys recently released a new album, containing a lovely tribute to the Stones, with a riff that's a pure "thank you, Keith" in one of the songs. The album's called "Tidsmaskin" and the track's named "Vildensky". Not only the guitar riffs, but also the brass arrangements are "right" and would probably sendBobby Keys nodding approvingly.

A few years ago, a jury of a German music magazine voted Jimi Hendrix to be the most influential guitar player. Strange, I don't hear guitar players like Hendrix but all the time little Keiths.

I remember back in '82 my then girlfirend called me to ask me if I had listened the new Stones song.
In fact it was Golden Earring's Twilight Zone, and yes, the first time I'd listen to it I thought it was the Stones (after Miss You, ER and SMU, one couild have expect anything)

The Soundtrack of Our Lives are heavily influenced by the Rolling Stones. Especially on songs like Blow My Cool and Firmament Vacation.

Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs - Little Red Riding Hood is a real stones rip but a good record. John Hammond, Jr's Junco Partner has a very good Brian-era guitar groove.

When GnR arrived on the national scene in 1987 they were hyped as the new Stones, but that had more to do with their outlaw image and similar band structure (five members, two guitarists, and the Axl, Slash variable).
