Thank you Keith for turning me on to someone else's music

Keith Richards believes in "passing the baton" and he has always mentioned from whom he took his. Keith has cited lot of names and among those some that I already knew(chuck Berry,Scotty Moore etc..) when I got deep into music. But thank you Keith for turning me on to the Everly Brothers; I now adore their music.RIP, Phil. Without Keith's little push I don't think I would have gone in that direction. What about you?
Any musicians or music that without Keith you would not have listened to?
Rock and roll,
Mops

Too many to count. Keith brought me back to the Stones several years ago after reading LIFE, and the Stones brought me here, and all of you have turned me on to so much diverse, great music.

So, I thank you all, but most especially Keith Richards. Because of Keith, you have me here. OH, NOOOOOO.....grinning smiley

Keith said, he likes Vivaldi? Where? I know, he several times mentioned Mozart, but I can't remember Vivaldi. I really like The Four Seasons, by the way.

I wouldn't have listened to The X-pensive Winos without him.

As a teenager, I would write CD shopping lists after reading Keith's interviews - that's how I started building my collection - rock'n'roll, blues, country, reggae, even jazz, traditional musics and classical. I really liked that he was open and passionate about his musical influences and tastes. And also that it covered very wide horizons musically.

I am very proud that I was able to return the favor by introducing Keith to traditional music from Mauritius, Reunion and Seychelles, which he enjoyed a lot.

Not exactly, what I meant, but that's nice, too. grinning smiley Thanks! It says "Classic" in the video, but I have to confess, that I didn't know the song. eye popping smiley Though I know the sound, so maybe I once heard another song by the group.

Reggae music. Before Keith, I had just a passing familiarity with the genre, mostly Bob Marley. But now I love listening to all of it, especially the early stuff.

Thank you for making us actually listen to the minimalistic blues notes and soulful licks that others drown in production. That makes Keith Richards second to Jimi Hendrix.

And that's why Keith Richards 1974-1977 is the most underrated piece of Rolling Stone history.

And thanks for making me listen to George Jones although Keith's version of Say it's not you is one of the best covers ever.

Someone here a few weeks ago posted a video of Keith (& Winos? or All-star band?) doing Eddie Cochran's "Something Else" that made my head about explode. Although I quickly downloaded some youtube audio files to tide me over, I've ordered and am currently awaiting the arrival of my first Eddie Cochran Greatest Hits CD.

Thanks Keith!

Peace,
Mr DJA

I doubt it's written anywhere. Maybe it is, I don't know. But Keith told me that he likes to wake up to Vivaldi. My source is Keith himself.smoking smiley Again, thanks Keith!

I know, but Keith himself called this one "Jamaican dub", and recommended the kids to start listen to it, instead of rap music in an interview - don't remember which interview, though smiling smiley

Because of Keith Richards I discovered Chess Records and Motown when I was quite young and that was a real eye opener. Couple that with Peter Tosh and New Orleans stuff like Dr John and The Meters and all I have to say is thank you Keef.
