I think the Jack bottle was mostly a prop the Stones used as part of their image management back then. Whenever publicity photos were about to be taken someone would probably shout "Quick! Get the Jack bottle!". But then, I'm not a big fan of bourbon.

The Jack bottle was not a prop. They drank that stuff in large quantities, especially Keith, whom I saw consume almost an entire bottle during a concert on the 1972 US tour.

There was a 60's photo-shoot that featured Jagger with a bottle of Carling Black Label. It was one of the only lagers available in the U.K. at the time.
