Saw this at the rock hall this weekend... Cool potential setlist, but doesnt seem like it would've been something they would've played in '81.

Surprised that the RRHOF would display a reproduction .

... How do they know "the set list seen here lists many blues covers the band did not actually perform that night"?
There are so many different versions of the setlist from that show that the Department of Historical Accuracy gets dizzy.
Anyway the combination of Worried Life Blues and Worried About You sounds more like the El Mo 1977 set
so until further notice ... I doubt it.

You were there?? If so, you're probably the first one here at IORR who can report from this show...

Setlist may be a bad description... I just did some searching but was unable to find the referece I was looking for... I remember seeing somewhere (book, internet, magazine) a discussion (maybe even a picture) of this list as being more of "extra ideas" that the band could just pull out if necessary. Anyone else remember a story along these lines?

Peace,
Mr DJA

Wikipedia has this setlist, which I also find very unlikely:

Worcester show

"Everybody Needs Somebody to Love"
"Mona (I Need You Baby)"
"Under My Thumb"
"When The Whip Comes Down"
"Shattered"
"Neighbours"
"Let It Bleed"
"I Just Want To Make Love To You"
"She's So Cold"
"Hang Fire"
"All Down The Line"
"Honky Tonk Women"
"Start Me Up"
"Sympathy for the Devil"
"Jumpin' Jack Flash"
"Twist and Shout" Encore at Pontiac, MI

This seems more likely what they played 2 me because most of these songs were played on the 81 tour but twist and shout really

I'm a moderator at setlist.fm and we have the same one from the wiki page most likely sourced from rocksoff. They have show notes as "Setlist is incomplete but included the songs listed above in a 22-song set" "Running order probably NOT as listed". Anyone who can provide insight i'd love to hear it so we can get this updated.

I was at the Pontac Silverdome for Both shows in 1981. They Definitely did not play
Twist And Shout.

"Encore at Pontiac, MI" would seem to indicate it's misplaced in that Worcester MA info, wouldn't it?

Stones did two shows at the Pontiac Silverdome on the '81 tour. 'Twist And Shout' wasn't played at either of them.

However, it was played in Pontiac MI. In 1982. By The Who.

The setlist at the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame is not the right list. Rolling Stone covered the Morgan's Cove show. That is where most of the wikipedia set list comes from.

both Silverdome '81 shows are available uncut right off the board at Wolfgang's Vault, there was no Twist & Shout. And I have access to the entire Rolling Stone archive, I can't find anything about the Sir Morgan show, i'll keep looking.

that set list was from Ian....

So this guy authenticates the document which I don't think any of us doubts, what the document says is another thing entirely.

Rolling Stone article about Sir Morgan's Cove show - [www.rollingstone.com]

Collector that loaned that "setlist" to RRHOF posted about it here a couple of years ago - [www.iorr.org]

There's several mistakes in this letter, easy to spot.

The set list of the warm up gig very closely resembled the opening shows of Philly, with basically the set they did for the first half of the tour, with the rarities like Mona, Down the Road and Everybody Needs Somebody thrown in. According to Ian MacLagan, the set list was supposed to be a mix of new material, the greatest hits, and a section delving back to their '60's blues past. The written songs by Jagger are a collection of rarities and encores meant to possibly rotate during the tour.

So it's a list of songs, not a setlist. That much is believable.

Several? How do you mean? The only ones I spot are "14-week stay" (I thought it was shorter, more like 5-8, but they could have been there sooner to get things ready), and Ian McLagan's name misspelled.
