Gimme Shelter / God Gave Me Everything

Also: "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" could perhaps be "the mother of all opening riffs" in 'Stones songs. You'd hear an intro similar to "Satisfaction" in such songs as "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and "Brown Sugar."

...JJF: damn sure. But "Brown Sugar": not really, imo.

Soul Survivor's a masterpiece, It Must Be Hell's okay.
Gimme Shelter's a masterpiece, God Gave Me Everything's bad.

The Soul Survivor/Must Be Hell/Rock And A hard Place comparisons are obvious.
What it is, is that rest on the One.
I don't hear the "Gimme Shelter" "God Gave Me Everything". LOL - the one thing "Gimme Shelter" doesn't have is a forced bridge.

the chorus to Already Over Me and the chorus to Always Suffering.

Besides the obvious Must Be Hell/Soul Survivor relation, Undercover had more than one rip-off on it: Pretty Beat Up (which I dig) is an advanced version of Hot Stuff; Too Tough (which I find decent) is a tongue-in-cheek take on JJF (Fight was another attempt but worked not so well..).

And yes, to use the same song (Always Suffering/Already Over Me) twice on one record was a good one.

Am I the only one to notice the strange similarity between Keith's Infamy and Mick's 'NeoCon' on ABB?

JJF and Satisfaction are similiar when played live but the recordered studio versions are really very different.

No you wouldn't, because they are not similar in ANY way at all.

Too Tough and the bridge/middle eight in Fight.

The bridge in Coming Down Again was lifted, directly, to be the main melody for Sleep Tonight (go to about 3:50 in Coming Down Again and you'll hear it, ha ha).

Soul Survivor and It Must Be Hell are the only Stones songs that are practically the same. No other songs have ever come that close to sounding so similar as those two.

The pianos intro on CDA and ST are also suspisciously similar...

Brown Sugar and All Down The Line

Brown Sugar and Sad Sad Sad are similar in structure but they certainly don't sound the same. They are almost the same song chord for chord but not in the same order.

Jumpin' Jack Flash and When The Whip Comes Down are close in a way. Although at this point which version of JJF I'm not sure ha ha...

Brown Sugar and All Down The Line

All Down The Line seems to pick up where Brown Sugar leaves off - more of a sequel than an imitation.
