Mac is announcing in his website that the Faces will be playing in june 2011.

This has two lectures: great news about a great band that i am dying to catch live and very bad news on the Stones because it seems as no project in the short term

His website has solo gigs up in June, no Faces gigs.

Yeah that was from the "Ronnie in 2011" thread where he said they've been emailing each other. Still though when it's mentioned to Ronnie--he seems pretty clear that Rod's "people" make it hard for them to make any plans about a Faces reunion. Also mentioning that he's busy with his "Songbook stuff."

Rod and the Faces should do a one-off show and put it on DVD instead of a whole tour. Rod may not have the vocal stamina to do this type of show every other night. Sure they could lower they keys of the songs for him but Ronnie said himself that he doesn't wanna really do that saying that they sound "off" when lowered..."Stay With Me" being a prime example.

It'd be great to see Rod up there with them...sadly don't think it's going to happen.

Mainly because that is how i remember them when i saw them in 1974...

Dunno about sad, why sad ? Rod's doin' whatever the blazes Rod's doin', which is just fine I guess; but the fact of the matter is that he simply couldn't belt those great old tunes out as well as once upon a time he could. And more to the point, not as well as Mick Hucknall can today. To be honest, you don't need to be pyschic to work it out, Rod simply ain't interested in a Faces reunion these days. If he WAS, it would've happened, no-one's time is THAT precious or diary THAT full. But it hasn't happened, and it ain't ever likely to. Anyway, if you have an opportunity to see 'em with Hucknall on vocals, DO !! They're just great.

Agree! Agree! Agree! It would be pure cabaret with Rod plus it would be sad and awful. Rod can't sing anymore and certainly can't rock like he used to. I think it would be painful to watch Rod up there with the Faces.

Look at the youtube clips of Hucknall up there with them, he's great and the band is on fire.

Good for Mac, hope there are some Faces gigs. In the States. More than a couple of festivals. I suggest the Fox Theater in Atlanta!

I'd be thrilled if the Faces toured continuously for the next decade. Ron could do what he was better at...and the Stones could bring back Taylor and sound better instantly. Win-win.

Sad, but Stewart can't sing like he used to. Wish he could. That deep, throaty, controlled voice he had, say on Had Me A Real Good Time. Stewart has been a jive drag for many years, but, once upon a time...

I've seen the videoclips and they sound good, but I agree - it's not the Faces to me w/o Rod. I saw them right at the end, with Jesse Ed Davis joining on guitar and Tetsu Yamauchi replacing Ronnie Lane on bass. It was such a great, sloppy performance. I'll never forget it.

I would still go to see Ron and Mac.

i know Rod is not gonna be there. a shame, but seeing the Faces with Ronnie is as good as it gets/.
I bet though, Rod stewart with stevie nicks will make a nice concert.
I always fancied Stevie (when she was younger).

i am counting the Stones will hit London in 2012, when there is no tour in 2011
