Another Live Album with overdubs, this is about the making of Kiss Alive

An amazing live album. Hate that its full of overdubs, but it still works for me. They never quite got it right with another live album. Alive II was still decent, but even more obviously overdubbed. Their only other good live album is their Unplugged one, which is excellent.

Don't know what this is, some kind of backing track, I guess, Shock Me.

Ace's sound on these jams is lamer and thinner than back in the day...

Ace isn't my cup of tea as a musician , so I would not want to take guitar lessons from him or would I follow his financial advise.

Ace's new CD is called "Foreclosure Blues".

The Kiss emblem was Aces design and he should have kept control over it, he didn't. An odd thing is that Gene is now a proud Jew and is happy to make money from a giant Nazi SS plastered everywhere, guess they are not to proud to make money off of the old enemy, a common theme these days.

There are very few "live" albums out there that aren't full of overdubs! Always liked KISS Alive and Alive 2. Wish Ace and Peter were still in the band.

well that kiss doc was pretty funny

simmons says 'no other band made a double live album before us!'

well, allmans for one did, and its a zillion times better too

stanley said 'you can say we are smart and geniuses...'- but hey does anybody say that?

Deuce off Alive is still the best live album opener I've heard. The entire album is brilliant and only sags during the 100,00 Years drum solo.

Easily the best Kiss release.

You mean Gene lied/exaggerated? No way!

While Kiss has been a complete joke since they started dressing up roadies as original members, they were a great live band back in the day. Especially into the late 70's.

Someone mentioned Ace's tone was thin in that video - somthing was up with his sound there as he typically always has the same raging les paul into Marshall type tones. It could have been that he was playing that prototype les paul....

OT Kiss Alive Doco

Only a 37 minute doco? More like a short......

Was expecting there to be many more convos in this doco.

Thayer was. Singers just a talented lackey for Gene and Paul...
Kiss have sadly become a joke.

They should have done what AC/DC did - never waver from the formula that made them popular in the first place. Once Kiss started following trends like disco, pop and rock operas - they became a joke.
